It was about as long as the Queen fight. Queen also got way more pagetime in general but he's awesome.

I thought it was an interesting experiment to go with the very realistic depictions of animals in the lion king. That said they should probably experiment with something else now.

Lots of remakes are bad

They have voices and new items and stuff. Decent way to play those games again if that's what you want to do.

Yeah usually I just stay in the same world and get everything but I also like trying to hop between different worlds as much as possible, doing bowser levels and new stages as soon as they're available before returning to older ones.

I thought Salazar was maybe creepier, but definitely missed all the "codec" scenes with him and Saddler.

You guys are right I was always disappointed with his lack of screentime in the original and this felt more fleshed out.

I'll give you Luis wasn't a downgrade. I still think super suave Luis had better rivalry factor with Leon.

It's all about knowing ahead of time where the targets will be and putting your scope there already.

I think most characters were downgrades besides Leon, Mendez, Salazar, and Ashley (and I kinda like bratty ashley).

But it's really just because the tone of the game fitting in with the rest of the series. It just doesn't fit the particular campiness of RE4 to a tee. It was still great and I think the attempt was super interesting.

Gameplay wise I have no complaints and it's such a novel experience it really complements the old one. Even when things were different they were still just as good.

Zero was my second favorite, I just never needed to save him until recently.

Yeah actually. I don't think there's actually a point to splitting one complete character into four less functional characters. Just adds tedium. Especially when it's arbitrary stuff like who gets to put on a special cap.

In SMB2 every character is viable and just changes how you approach each stage. In DK64, all five characters are virtually the same, but there are switches/barrels with their faces on it that only react to them so they're all necessary. Compare to Banjo-Kazooie which has basically all the same abilities but you don't ever need to switch (Lanky Kong has Kazooie's Talon Trot to increase movement speed, but now you only have it 20% of the time!)

I like assassin's creed games myself but I just can't hold them as high regard as something that engages me in a more natural way.

Unless we have another smash game that tries to include a lot of new characters, it's hard to see old franchises getting a spot.
