Haven't finished the game yet, but these later sidequests are bangers. Just did the one in Boklad involving certain characters and it made me tear up. You even get to see cutscenes involving Cid's past in some of them.

Thats cool, hope you make it over there. I went to Tokyo last year and Im really tempted to make it an annual trip. I passed N1 but can barely actually speak Japanese, so I wouldnt try to move there to work. Plus, I just bought a house here in the U.S. so Im kind of committed now.

Should I play the demo first? I think I remember there was some sort of prologue?

I don't think we're obssessed with politics as much as the US. Sure we have our own problems with the government, but the US is on a whole other level.

Most people I know who come here are fixated on the history and cultural buildings we have. And also the monarchy.

No idea, since I'm not in school anymore. And I'd believe any statistics that come out would be based on teachers/parents experiences, or students who aren't willing to come forward with any abuse they receive, so I'm not entirely sure those can be trusted either.

have you ever tried to use chatgpt to write a program? it is ok-ish at extremely basic stuff. as soon as you ask it to do anything even slightly more advanced than the absolute basics it will literally start inventing make-believe commands

Grew up on Harry Potter. I even knew people/classmates who were casted in the earlier movies whilst I was still in school. Got into LotR much later and didn't appreciate it as much.

I'm pretty sure nowadays if I went through LotR again I'd appreciate it more, but for now it goes to Harry Potter.

it's hard to say, since I'm not too far into the game, but one of the events early on seems like it could have inspired by one of GoT's most notable moments.

Goetz(?) seems inspired by Hodor, Clive's mom being a stand-in for Cersei, Torgal inspired by the dire wolves, the map, etc.

but I'm not the biggest FF fan, and I missed some games as a result, so some of the comparisons can be coincidental.

Ah yeah this too. Theres a lot of homage to the characters like Ned Stark and John Snow too.

And if you've played FF14 you'll see a ton of references as well. Even in the fights and music set pieces.

Its more like the political struggle, the voice actors, and the dark style of writing. Granted, a lot of that is from FF14 as well as Tactics. So its a mix of everything done really well.

But Yoshi-P and the team did take some influence from GoT. He even made his team watch it.

Try the demo. That changed a lot of people's minds. I also was kinda sketchy about it (even though I had pre-ordered). Demo totally reinforced my belief that I made a right choice to buy tbh.

Good game. It actually just keeps getting more and more insane in terms of the fights.

How or why would it become worse? I've been using it to assist with certification studies. I double check it frequently and it hasn't been wrong so far as I've seen.

Granted, I'm using GPT-4, and I've used it enough to try and avoid lines of question that I think are likely to confuse it and cause it to start hallucinating.

I personally use 3.5, the devs put on more filters which restricted its capabilities.

That's strange, this is one of the only games recently that I've stuck with.

Basically I live down a long winded road, and at the top of the road (10 mins walk) is a huge park where they hold concerts sometimes. The sound somehow travels all the way down here and if I open my windows, I can hear the music pretty clearly. I can't imagine how the houses must feel near the park.

Activision isn't the whole market share.

Activision is a third party that makes a lot of money for Sony yes. But businesses aren't entitled to third parties making money for them.

I'm sure Netflix would have loved being able to just buy licenses out for Friends and The Office and not bother with Netflix Originals. But that's not how it works. They saw where the wind was going and adapted.

Now if Microsoft bought AMD knowing specifically that both Xbox and Playstation relies on them to develop hardware that's an entirely different story and should be blocked.

If we start to open up the discussion that the dominant company shouldn't be allowed to dictate what content is or isn't allowed on competing hardware then that's gonna open up discussions on exclusivity deals in general. Which is why Sony and the FTC aren't pursuing that argument.

Sorry I think we got mixed up there. I was still talking in hypotheticals in relation to if Microsoft owned most of the market share by buying up other companies after this acquisition goes through.

Also the point you made on exclusivity deals, those are fine unless these deals are on such a scale where the whole industry is being manipulated. As if one company had all the power to make all those deals through each and every company.

Right now, these deals are on a smaller scale in which I wouldn't think its a monopoly at all. Just like Sony with FF16, and Microsoft with Starfield.

Edit: Those games are smaller, but I guess the argument here is that if a game like CoD has such a huge market share, will that effect the industry on a massive level? I would say yes personally.

I would think its because they're more niche. Not to bash them or anything. Yes Persona is huge, but not on the levels of Spiderman or Last of Us.

Those are all your typical third person "grounded" action game. Even FF is becoming this compared to their more stylistic former entries. And Playstation has made it clear these types of games are the only ones they really want to focus on and that nicher and more experimental games "aren't what their brand is looking for". iirc you are or used to be fans of those nicher games.

I mean, I love Persona, Valheim, Yakuza, the Tales of series ect.

I was just talking about exclusive AAA which yes, they are focusing on those types of games. Which makes sense since the casual audience eats that up.

You're probably right here, if MS did stick to that. However it could easily change down the line.

So hypothetically, a company that controls the whole market share, being able to dictate what its competitors have access to, would definitely be considered a monopoly.

Techinically: Monopolies can have significant control over pricing, supply, and market conditions, which can limit choice and potentially harm competition.

Inventing time travel at this point, as they've already done away with Xbox Exclusive. I bought Starfield on an entire separate platform not linked to a Microsoft account whatsoever(Steam). And Gears of War, Halo, Forza and EVERY "big gun" MS game is on there.

First common ground with a PS fan and I'm glad you admit it. PlayStation right now is an unnecessary TAX on the most popular games for only Sony's benefit.

Japanese consumers already have left Playstation to play on Switch. They don't care about home consoles that much anymore.

Recent sales figures shows that the PS5 sales are pretty healthy. But you're right, there is a big market shift towards mobile games.

Xbox however would sell almost nothing >_>
