Yeah my dad grew up in Mississippi and he told me about avoiding stopping in certain towns if I drive through the South. But I've never given a second thought to things like who I get in an elevator with or how close I'm standing behind someone in line.

A lot of "claiming" has to do with the relationship between race and history in the United States. From the article I linked earlier with Dr. Rebecca Futa Kennedy:

Likewise Ploutarkhos of Khaironeia and Arrian, styling his biography of Alexander after Xenophon's anabasis, sought to portray Alexander as a pan-hellenic Greek hero, downplaying his Macedonian origins, and scholars have noted Homeric parallels in these works. So did the Romans see themselves in Alexander as well. There were some black Africans, yes. But interestingly a modern Coptic woman was just found to be a 100% DNA match for an Hellenic era Egyptian. There is increasing evidence coptics in particular are direct descendants of the majority of Egyptians in the classical period.

Copts are only a portion of the Egyptian population though. I'm sure it would vary by ethnic group there. Plus it would be really hard to pin down especially since almost all places in North Africa/Mediterranian are so fucking mixed that it makes it a moot point.

They wont, I like AEW but other than putting together great matches their booking is really weak. They cool off everyone they push. It's worse than WWE. Hangman should have been the biggest babyface in the company but he's cooled off. Cody left and became the biggest babyface in WWE. Even before brawl out CM Punk is in his mid 40s and his body is falling apart.

MJF is a great heel and the "pillars" dont look or talk like stars outside of Darby. They aren't going to build a strong babyface without serious changes. They NEED CM Punk and Punk knows it. Its why he is able to get away with this shit.

For whatever reason there is a large section of african americans that do try to claim egyptian history as "black history" but its weird because Africans themselves dont do this. One of my best friends is Eritean and we've had long discussions about this. The best way i can explain would be if an Asian american was claiming Chinese history as Japanese or lumping it all together.

African American culture in the US is so fractured and so many people cant trace roots back to an origin they look for a timeframe to latch onto. Despite there being multiple time periods of black prominence.

Journalist started speculating that CM Punk is starting to holdout because he wants ace steel back. If you arent aware Ace Steel is the man who bit Kenny Omega and escalate the fight during "Brawl Out"

CM Punk gets pissed at Bryan Alvarez and brings up an article that Alvarez wrote in 2005 that has sources saying CM Punk was a danger around women. Punk alludes to Alvarez being jealous of who CM Punk was dating at the time. He goes on a rant about him on Instagram

And now today. Someone digs this up from around the time Alvarez wrote about CM Punk being a danger. Not mentioned in this post but CM Punk had a reputation for sleeping around with women in the locker room and cheating on them constantly.
