Overrated? Maybe, but still good in their way.

SMB2 is solid, if trippy.
Excitebike is good for what it is: a low-energy way to waste an hour (plus track editor).
Punch Out was (and is) fun.
Final Fantasy had some difficult levels that it felt like an accomplishment to conquer (not so much in the recent remake)...and the old-style pure exploration and questing was fun.

Zelda II I found weird and janky at the time and it hasn't really gotten any better with age, although it felt like an accomplishment to beat. I don't much care about the others and/or only played a couple times.

I probably say FF, but Punch Out is close.

OK, let's get unpopular.

3,000 15-19 year-olds die every day. Either I need to feel sad about each and every one of them or I am able to react however I like depending on the situation.

In this case I feel a little bad, but I feel no worse for this one than I do for the other 2,999 that died on the same day.

And I really don't feel bad for the older people who were responsible for choosing to do this. I don't celebrate their deaths, but I don't feel much of anything and don't feel bad about that.

As for billionaires/etc, can I say that I would start giving 99% of my money away upon earning it to ensure I would never be obscenely rich if I were in their situation? No, I doubt I would if I'm being realistic. That said, I DO believe I would not waste it on yachts and other wasteful status symbols and hope I would give 99% of it away by the end of my lifetime so as not to fund an entitled and pointless line of family successors. Buffet has talked about doing this, but...we'll see.

The bigger problem is a political and cultural system that allows individuals to collect this much money. It's hard for them to effectively donate that much money even if they wanted to.

So there you go.

I want to play rbi baseball
I love that this was your first example...and here's hoping you're talking about the NES original. I've probably played 1,000 games in my life. That said, there's only so long your brain can be interested in that (particularly as a one-player game).

I want to game and I have spare time at night during which I could do so, but I find myself increasingly uninterested in new releases outside of a few. Is it a problem with me or the industry...it's hard to say. In my case there is probably some depression involved, but I don't think I would suddenly be playing another hundred games of RBI baseball if that went away...your brain does need new interests (at the very least new games) from time to time.

I notice that my mental health nosedives when I don't have a good gaming project, which is sad, but that's where I seem to be at the moment. Octopath 2 and Tears are coming soon in my case, for better or worse, and I think they might be new releases I can get onboard with.

Some people are convinced each new trump indictment or scandal gets him closer to an election victory. That mindset is sad, but I could see it happen.
I believe this to be the reality of the situation, sadly. Do I think he was in the wrong? Yes. Do I think a former President is going to go to jail for holding on to documents? No. Will this kick the grievance machine that powers him into high gear? Yes.

It's sad, but this is a blessing for him.

The only thing he truly could go down for as a former President would be election manipulation (i.e. Georgia) but it seems that won't happen. The best strategy after that is to ignore him, not attack him.

your post implied americans dont watch or care about soccer which is an incorrect implication
Americans play soccer, especially as kids, and I wouldn't be surprised if there were more soccer players than baseball players.

As adult sports FANS, though, few people are interested in soccer. Look at any American sports media: soccer is there, but it's on the outside looking up at the more popular sports. There are some hardcore fans in urban areas, yes, but the country as a whole isn't very interested. Heck, I was listening to the local sports talk radio this week and one of their quiz questions was who won the World Cup: only 2 of 6 on the show knew.

Baseball in particular is fading, yes, but they still get 30,000 people to come out to 81 home games every year in most markets. Soccer just rose above 20,000 per game, so that's legit, but they vary greatly by market and play only 17 home games...the total attendees are still much lower. And I don't even know where you would watch their games on TV.

ANYways, it's a fun sport to play. It's boring to watch...and probably always will be. Flopping makes it (and hooligans willing to fight over it) look ridiculous. I won't even consider watching until they man up (like the womens' teams, who don't flop) and get on their feet. Hurray for the NBA, which mostly defeated flopping (not that I'm usually a big NBA guy).

Fine enough, honestly. Anyone who thinks that almost everything they do online isn't available to a country-level actor who really wants to know about it is fooling themselves. I'm sure China has plenty of much better ways to get info about unsuspecting Americans than TikTok. I'm sorry to tell everyone this, but China doesn't actually care about your TikTok habits...or even your credit card numbers, your pornography habits, or any of the other contents of your average-person laptop. The threats you need to worry about are the ones that don't get a ton of attention in the news.

The internet is definitely accelerating societal decline, but it is and would be occurring even without it right now.

Long story short societies pull together and pull apart in long cycles. Either a society is excited to be together and is on the upswing (usually because of some sort of shared religion, shared success, or - most typically - to confront a threat everyone is scared of) or it is full of people who are getting tired of each other, no longer can think of a reason they need each other, and is pulling apart. The word is decadent, and that's where Western societies are at right now.

The US and 'the West' knew what it stood for during WW1 and WW2: (relative) free individuality/religion, anti-authoritarianism, and if nothing else not being murderous. That's a side that it feels good to be on. Was the West perfect? No, of course not, but it sure looked better than being on any other team, and that felt good (for most people) in those countries.

But nobody remembers that anymore, there is no threat that's TRULY scaring us, and we're now finding fault with those we previously were happy to join up with. The internet didn't cause that (it had started by the 90s) but it certainly accelerated it. It is clear that something significant (and not good) is going to have to happen to reverse the trend.

Do you eat a lot of garbage and find yourself looking forward to the next fad from Burger kink or whatever fast food joint?
Some garbage, but it's always the same old garbage. No new fads.

Do you spend more than two hours every day staring at a screen for enjoyment?
Yes, and I doubt there's a person on GameFAQs who could answer no. :)

Do you have no productive hobbies?
Define "productive". Some people like to croquet, but I don't see that filling a house full of croqueted stuff is really productive in any way that's improving their lives. I mountain bike.

This, more or less. BK makes a better burger, by and large, than McD's sterile machine-perfected blandish-but-OK quarter pounder. That said, you're taking a risk with the employees and the quality of everything other than the meat in the burger. When done right pretty tasty: when a bunch of slop you throw it away without eating it.

Culvers is big around here, but I'm apparently weird because it doesn't do much for me. I don't like their sweet buns and their burgers/fries/etc are all pretty bland regardless of what you put on them. It's generally fresh and clean, but unexciting: very midwestern all in all. I'd go to McD instead of Culvers purely for their fries, and I would risk BK instead of Culvers for a tastier burger. Unless I want ice cream there's no reason I'd choose Culvers. (And if I want ice cream I would probably go to DQ first)
