There's an incredibly common sales/PR tactic.

Let's say you are selling something to a customer for $10. One day, you raise your price to $100. The customer freaks out, refuses to pay, threatens to stop buying from you forever, etc etc. So you "compromise" and agree to lower your price to $15. The customer agrees because $15 is better than $100, and at least you showed a willingness to listen. The customers win!

...except now you're charging them $5 more than you were before. At the cost of a little bit of bad PR (that will blow over because everyone is a goldfish who can't remember more than 20 minutes ago), and maybe a few customers who actually stopped using your product. But the revenue you lost is easily offset by the revenue you gained. And will continue to gain.

It's not as effective as the "boiling frog" (making small changes over time so people don't notice or complain, and then suddenly you're charging them three times as much and they never realized it). But it's definitely a thing companies have done.

I think that's price priming. You walk in and make them expect a $100 product, but low and behold, you can get it for the low low price of $15.

I have a feeling YouTube is just testing how much shit they can get away with and how much people will pay.

After all a lot of grocery stores have single serve dinners that all you have to do is pop them in your microwave or oven, which doesn't take a lot of time, not to mention TV dinners which, while not that healthy, are better than nothing. Then there are restaurants and places like McD's that you can visit from time to time if you can afford it.

Anything with addictive potential (especially one where an addiction would harm your life in other ways)? It's not a bad idea, at least to get a better understanding of your relationship with it to help you mitigate that potential. Alcohol is just particularly high on that list.

There were promises made to bring wages up, bringing the pension back, and a bunch of other things. Then COVID happened, and that didn't happen, fair enough. We're now officially out of the pandemic (it's just regular 'ol disease now), and those promises were explicitly not kept.
This is how you keep business honest about what they say they will do.

But Biden is officially pro-worker (even though he fucked over rail workers), so this should be a great boon to him and his popularity. The president who helped the people get a 32 hour workweek, increased wages, and everything else.

This is going to be very interesting to me, 'cause I build car parts for the automotive factories so I may have some free time.
But also looks like they're fighting for a 32 hour workweek, which, if that goes through, could reasonably flow down to the rest of the manufacturing world.
