Sure.

No one's going to say the meal was terrible if steak was great.

I mean, everyone on the West involved (I guess I mean leaders of various nations, from European to US) are nervous about just how far we can arm Ukraine and attack into Russia without a nuclear response.

It's the reason why Biden (and others) have been very very reluctant to provide long range weapons.

Musk in 2022 secretly ordered his engineers to turn off Starlinks connectivity along the Crimean coast in order to thwart a Ukrainian attack on Russias naval fleet, according to an excerpt of Walter Isaacsons long-anticipated Elon Musk obtained by CNN. Musk made the decision out of a fear that the attack would lead Russia to retaliate with nuclear weapons, according to Isaacson.

The Ukrainian subs rigged to blow up the Russian ships lost connectivity and washed ashore harmlessly after Musk disconnected their service, Isaacson writes.

Musk agreed to let Ukraine use Starlink soon after Russia invaded in early 2022, and Isaacsons book describes how conflicted he was that his companys technology was being used to launch attacks. How am I in this war? Musk told Isaacson. Starlink was not meant to be involved in wars. It was so people can watch Netflix and chill and get online for school and do good peaceful things, not drone strikes.

...Britains second-biggest city effectively declared itself bankrupt on Tuesday, shutting down all nonessential spending after being issued with equal pay claims totaling up to 760 million ($956 million).

Birmingham City Council, which provides services for more than one million people, filed a Section 114 notice on Tuesday, halting all spending except on essential services.

The deficit arose due to difficulties paying between 650 million (around $816 million) and 760 million (around $954 million) in equal pay claims, the notice report says.

The city now expects to have a deficit of 87 million ($109 million) for the 2023-24 financial year....

Ok, UK posters, what does this mean, exactly?

Is it equivalent of US municipals going bankrupt (but essential services continuing to be provided)?

Some of it still confuses me. Not a lot of 'tutorial' to work on. Like space building still puzzles me but I hardly messed with it. Probably cannot afford to either.

I did laugh whenever I took a debt collecting job for a bank and I ended up having to find this CEO who needed to be 'saved' and I literally just circled around, went through a door and saved her life, not realizing that there were dozens of enemies outside that I was supposed to fight. Then I turn and they're all over the place and I just...leave.

Hope that's patched up because I'm preeettty sure I wasn't supposed to just walk in. Took some of the fun out of it.

It was the manner in which it was found out (In the trailer, I don't remember if it was like that in the actual game or not because its been a while, even though that was legitimately the best route). Like, the "We are naked and about to have sex, oh, and I have a cock" sort of reveal that the trailer implied.

Nah, it was specifically stated that the problem was that the character was hiding that the character was trans.

The arguments made was "trans would not deceive their dates. It is dangerous to do so due to potential anger/backlash. The presentation in the game that a trans character would do so is fearmongering".

It wasn't over the "reveal". It was about the character hiding being a trans.

When was the game released? 5 years ago?
Just surprised that so much has changed on this particular issue from the stance of the trans community (or posters here, I guess... it may be different for the bigger community).

When Catherine Remaster came out (I think "Full Body"), they introduced a new character who was a trans, I think (well, the character was also an alien).

And it was supposed to be a plot twist when the protagonist discovered it.

The trans community was upset (as were some members of 261), arguing that no trans was going to hide that they were trans to someone they were dating, and that very concept of not being forward about it was a hateful fearmongering.

Has that position changed?

Before the shooting, Evangaline and the older girl were being punished that morning by Runions for not waking up the women and for eating Daniels food without permission, according to the warrant and a statement from Russell Johnson, district attorney general for Tennessees 9th Judicial District. Runions struck both girls with a sandal before forcing them to stand in different corners of the womens bedroom, authorities said the older girl told them.

Sort of feel like the woman decided to kill the kid and then call it an accident.

A 4-year-old in Tennessee died after being shot point-blank in the chest Sunday by a woman who said she was teaching the girl firearm safety, according to authorities.
Breanna Gayle Devall Runions, 25, was charged with first-degree murder and aggravated child abuse in the death of Evangaline Gunter.

According to a Tennessee Bureau of Investigation arrest warrant obtained by HuffPost, Runions told police that she had taken a 9 mm handgun out of its case, removed the magazine and called Evangaline over to show her firearm safety.

Runions pressed the barrel of the gun against the childs chest and pulled the trigger, police said she told them.

I don't have a problem with the idea of people owning guns for self defense, but I feel like we generally haven't shown that we're responsible enough to have them as a society.
