^ That's a good point. You don't always have to be maining someone (unless you want to, of course). Some people, once their mains are gone, just hand out single votes to some of their remaining favorites from whatever is left.

This explains the poor showing for FFX this year a little better. I recognize a few of those names as somewhat regular ffx savers if my memory serves me correctly.

For any of you still playing Fall Guys, a Final Fantasy XIV themed season is starting in a few days. Costume rewards found in the fame pass include:

Chocobo outfit
Mog hat
Goobbue outfit
Spriggan hat
Alisaie outfit
Alphinaud outfit
Namazu outfit
white mage outfit
dragoon outfit

I personally have never played FF XIV, so a lot of those I don't know, but there are still some series regular items in there that make me excited.

some parts of the West will get as much rain from this storm as they get all year. This might be one of those Katrina type of events where the storm itself is not nearly as bad as the flooding that follows.

It's funny how we all kind of hide participation in this game from people we know IRL.

you didn't let me get to the best part. My mom got so intrigued about the contest that she wants to play too. She's creating a brand new account to participate. It just so happens she's a big Seymour fan. Must run in the family. *wink wink*

I had to explain smfffc to my mom a few days ago.

I was driving her to visit a relative out of state. Right when we got on the freeway, I got the ping. I had to hand her the phone and explain to her what to do. She's not good with technology so I had to navigate to the topic page myself. Then I handed her the phone and told her to type in A-E-R-I-T-H.

Mom: "What is that word?"
Me: "...don't worry about it..."

I obviously couldnt leave it at that though so I spent a couple minutes awkwardly explaining smfffc to her. She didn't really get it. The awkwardness continued as I had to explain how we'd have to do this whole thing again in an hour. Thankfully, I just timed a gas station stop around the next hour mark so it all worked out.

I say RAISE the character count to 120-150, but then start with triple elims, transitioning to double, then single. Do the necessary math so that the contest is 10-20 days shorter overall.

I agree mostly with that nom prognostication. From an ffx standpoint, I wouldn't mind waiting one more year for the wakka redemption which can be paired with a lulu hardboot return and maybe chappu or their kid to make it a family affair. Good FFX theme runs have had success in these contests over the years. Next year can be the smaller-themed father/daughter pilgrimage.
