I'm not religious. At all. I'd describe myself as at best agnostic, worst atheist, and have always mostly disdained conventional Christianity. But this was such a weird and unique event compared to what I normally work and I honestly had a great time. I'm not considering attending (and thankfully no one tried to recruit me), but I told my friend who owns the business that catered it I'd be happy to work events there again.

I'm the head barista at a third wave cafe where we meticulously care for our coffee. Every shot we pull is cared for from grind to dose to extraction. Today, I worked on a $700 single group thermocoil Breville Barista Express machine. It's surprisingly capable! And if I drank coffee at home I'd honestly consider buying one.

But y'know the "church basement coffee" trope? It's real. They didn't let me handle the drip coffee, and predictably it was godawful. I was just serving a small espresso drink menu on my tiny (and veeeery slow) machine. I wish I'd been able to do both, or at least provide guidance for the drip coffee, cuz yeah, it was that stereotype to a T.

On the other hand, the folks that were ordering americanos, lattes, and mochas from me were over the fucking MOON. "Best coffee I've ever had!" was repeated frequently (I was using Costco espresso that I did not personally pick). "OH MY GOD! IT'S SO BEAUTIFUL! IT'S A LITTLE HEART! I'M TAKING A PICTURE!"

"THAT LAST ONE WAS SO GOOD I'M GONNA BE BAD AND GET ANOTHER OMG!"

I'm pretty sure I blew a bunch of peoples' minds today on subpar equipment, beans, and milk options. Everyone at my cafe expects and gets great shit. And I get feedback there, too; I ask for it frequently, especially for espresso beverages. But it's never as overjoyed and enthusiastic.

Truly pretty fun experience.

flexible bulletproof materials are pretty good these days and can stop most pistol rounds.

is it entirely realistic? eh. but relatively thin materials can stop (or deflect, prob) most things below .44 mag, which is what 3a armor is rated for. if you're not planning on stopping huge revolver rounds you can get away with thinner materials. as long as the bullet doesn't hit you it's a win.

Ask birds if birdshot is only "irritating".

Someone's got a really dope bike in my size with the fucking bells and all 3 of my bikes are in various states of "I could fix this but why bother they're old and 10 speed basically is ancient". This "new" (to me) is very very current and I imagine will remain that way for at least a few years so

I don't do fuckall else on this system than game, really. Wanna stick with AMD for the upgrade, thinking either 7900X3D or 7950X. And then there's the whole load of motherboard types for this socket; I'm thinking prob 670E just for more PCIE lanes? RAM has always been one of the most confusing parts to me, with the clocks and CAS latency being kinda inversely related and me not being super firm on where to strike a good balance.

Should I just just say fuckit and get that? The RAM doesn't have pretty lights, but... meh. I have ~$2k I can throw at this upgrade, and that'd leave a lot of space for creature comforts like also getting a new case that doesn't suck ass and (possibly, if necessary) a new CPU cooler.

I really like hibiscus blends and ginger/turmeric/lemongrass. Straight up peppermint is always nice too.

Rooibos is nice if you want something with a bit more body and earthiness; I used to love it but my taste has migrated a bit and while I don't mind it, it's not my go to anymore.

If you want to try something super weird but very good, try schisandra (five flavor) berry tea. It's not very common but Kilogram (Intelligentsia's tea division) has one.
