Also holy shit his movie reviews are hilariously, insanely bad. He often misses huge plot points. When talking about Nope he was questioning why no one went to the authorities about what was happening, because he somehow missed, and I stress that this is the entire point of the movie, they were trying to capture whatever is out there on camera to sell the evidence for a lot of money and save their ranch

When talking about The Whale, he goes on some long-winded conjecture about why he thinks the film takes place in one setting, which I guess is fine since he is at least trying to use his brain, but fails to mention that the movie is based on a stageplay, hence the single setting location

Then I watched his review of Top Gun Maverick where he thinks Jennifer Connelly's girlfriend character is the same girlfriend character from the original movie. It's not just a different actor, but the character also has a different name.

These videos are quickly becoming my favorite to watch simply because I have no idea how someone can fail so hard at basic movie comprehension. I hope he ends up watching something by Charlie Kaufman or something truly weird to see how he interprets it

This release date calendar scheduling video is one of the most irritating things I've seen Phil do. He will read off like 10 games and write them all off just because he has never heard of them. At least look into them and see if it's something you might like instead of whining you don't know what they are. He also might be able to strike some gold and slightly more popularity somewhere by trying out something under the radar and obscure before everyone else catches on to, but of course that never crosses his mind

I'm not even trying to go opposite the majority. You saw me posting my reactions to the interview. It was an embarrassing trainwreck, and I was laughing at DSP, and I said he did himself no favors. Just not a fan of the way they handled a post-show. I get why Phil is annoyed there because it does feel like a snipe-show to make money off ridiculing him, but Jesus Christ he also needs to learn how to shrug some of this off. He should have expressed that frustration without dedicating a whole stream to it.

Craig feels a bit more genuine, but Adam just comes across smug, hypocritical, and disingenuous. Sorry but a pro-Trump Bible thumper calling himself an honest asshole is the last person I'm taking advice and wisdom from. I also consider myself one of the most liberal and progressive people here, and for as much as I get why someone would be offended by that dumb joke, I have heard way worse on roasts and other improv comedy situations. It's not like Phil actively engages in trafficking for real.

I actually do believe attacking a real-life person and referring to them as a horse is a far worse thing to do, because, in that situation, you are hurting a real person with real feelings. It's not "just the Internet" at that point. Cyberbullying and its correlation with suicide (not saying she is suicidal, just making a point about online trends) is something I take far more seriously than a dumb, offensive joke where people can just turn off the stream if they don't like it.

Dude, I've seen the entire interview, and both aftermath shows from both sides. Sorry I can come at things from a perspective criticizing both sides. And I absolutely agree with Phil that there was no need to make a separate show exclusively talking about the interview if they had already had a Mario kart stream planned. They are following the money in a way that feels underhanded and not something unlike Phil would do to his own friends in the past. Still doesn't make any of it right.

I'm not seeing what they did that was bad. They talked about their experience of the interview and they read some superchats. I noticed that often with the superchats making accusations against Phil they didn't specifically cover they just read the chat and move on without comment. Of course they're going to use the five hours of content they produced with him that was really popular for money, but I don't see how that's unreasonable or unexpected. I don't think they did anything egregious in that area. Beyond those first two days they almost never mentioned Phil if it wasn't brought up by a superchat. They even stopped selling the "DSP jerking off" joke shirt after a week.

I've been watching most of the videos they made since the interview and honestly yeah it's not really for me and I imagine I'll stop soon and they do seem to be "on the right" of politics regarding a lot of video game issues particularly pertaining to speech, but I'm not seeing the relevance of that in regards to Phil's experience with them.

I mean it's fine if you don't see an issue, but I think that's exposing a double standard when it comes to DSP himself. That's a pretty shitty thing to do in my opinion, sending someone an email after 10 years or whatever to do a podcast but really you only care about what it can do for your channel. Gonna be honest, I have to side with Phil on the interview aftermath. Sidescroller guys seem like scumbags in their own way, especially Crigler (a hardcore Trumper accused of sexual assault). I think they feel Phil is nothing more than something to latch onto to grow their viewers for money. Look, the interview was a circus and Phil didn't really do himself any favors (even during moments where he could have easily pushed back and looked better), but that was also some preplanned good cop/bad cop stuff. Disappointing that the aftermath went down that way, which caused me to do more digging on Sidescrollers and yeah they seem like trash.I also maintain that willingly associating with someone like Keem is far worse than anything DSP said, so watching them try to take the moral high ground on anything is hilarious. Also, Adam: "there's nothing funny about that joke". But when someone points out calling Phil's wife a horse "it's just the Internet dude". They are clearly hypocrites

Phil is also stupid as fuck for agreeing to appear on their show without getting half of the money the show makes or somewhere around there. His own content is a wasteland that no one watches, but a special appearance like that on someone else's channel is a money gold mine that could easily be broken up and shared.

Regarding one piece, I agree with DSP that some of those people act embarrassing about boobs. He seemed pretty fair accepting that's just part of Japanese culture, but I did see a video that had the comments and so many of them were cringe. Sometimes I don't blame him for hating his own audience.

But I LOL'd when he said he is making content for people in their 20s-40s. Like dude, you just went on a rant about how half your viewers can't control themselves over boobs because they are probably teenagers. Shit like this fascinates me and is why I keep coming back to DSP. I see his points but he is also the only one to blame for these issues.

At least it doesn't seem like he personally is too prudish to play the game over it. I also want to clarify that I have nothing against finding animated characters attractive or anything like that, I'm just talking about how lame and childish most of his viewers sounded.
