How am I supposed to avoid that? Fainted twice just getting bounced around having no idea what happened. In the end I managed to kill it by riding other monsters and also running around planting barrels. I hope that was the last one, it wasn't very fun at all.I believe that is the only mandatory apex monster in the game. Their main purpose is really used to forge the rampage weapon tree. I enjoy the apex fights but that's mainly because I enjoyed the deviant monster fights in generations ultimate and the apex in Rise is basically a reskinned deviant. Will say though that they feel like wasted roster slots since none of them have their own unique weapon and armor sets unlike deviants did --- Wild ARMs is still the best JRPG series in my opinion and we desperately need a new game in the series! |

That said, getting hit will hurt a lot lol. I'm mostly surprised at how much faster it went compared to the bow.A good quick early armor set with evade extender and evade window is Nargacuga. Great Wroggi is fine too for just evade extender. Though both low rank sets will only give you level 2 evade extender (and level 3 evade window in the Nargacuga set). To clarify, Great Wroggi can be fought in 3 star village quests and Nargacuga in 5 star --- Wild ARMs is still the best JRPG series in my opinion and we desperately need a new game in the series! |

Even when I switched from the Defender tree and crafted something for myself, monsters just melt. I like that. And I like that the challenge is more around positioning than line, juggling three separate gauges. Although the idea of having combos with guard points is very tempting, I just don't think I'm capable of reading monster patterns well enough anyway.Doing village or hub quests?
