Your wordplay forgets that Luigi also blows water in this game. In addition to fire, air and ice.

Elements system feels fairly equivalent to casting bait. It plays like a fishing game with adventure elements & thats not a bad thing.

Only ever played this at a demo kiosk years ago. Still have to play the other games in the series.

Isn't it basically kinda like an old school RE-style survival horror but kid friendly?

Its a very obvious homage to RE1 in terms of story/structure/etc. but it does not play like a survival horror game at all. Fishing + adventure feels like the best comparison I could make.

It's the pendulum swinging back after a decade or more of minimalism in logos.

Personally I like minimalistic logos, but I can see why people like the bolder old styling.

Tastefully done minimalism is nice. The wave of cyclical flat logos every company suddenly began ushering in around 2012ish was basically the design equivalent of this:

It's the product of the times. Every game is "open world". What's worse is the graphics studio makers use are all Unreal engine or its derivatives, so many of these open world games have similar looking environments. This is just the same thing happening last gen, when 20 fps shooters come out every month looking like the same game with a different skin

Its funny in hindsight that gamers had it so good in the 6th gen that too many hack n slash games! was a real complaint people had. Not that the industry was only making hack n slash games - almost every genre in the medium was fairly saturated at the time - but that there were simply too many games of this particular genre.

Didnt buy either myself or use them much though, those were my dads systems to play Halo & CoD on. I mean I was allowed to play them whenever he wasnt using them, but the games didnt really interest me (tbh I regret not getting into the cool Japanese shit on those systems like the OGs huge lineup of Sega games (had HotD3 at least), the 360s shmups + Mistwalker titles, etc.)

This was my first time having it & my first impression is that it sorta reminds me of carrot cake, specifically the bites that dont have icing/raisins/shredded carrot. Nice, gentle dessert that probably wouldve been better if Id grabbed it around noon rather than just a few minutes before closing.

actually, come to think of it, that pork marinade recipe is pretty similar to the sauce i use when i cook an Asian-inspired stir fry, just with the addition of the sweet chili sauce, which i've thought about adding before but never have. and also i use chili powder and crushed red pepper instead of the Gochujang and Gochugaru, which i gather from googling are roughly equivalent substitutes. and i use Rice Vineger instead of Apple Cider Vinegar. might try the ACV this time, along with the sweet chili sauce.

1. Chili powder pretty much works as a substitute for gochugaru since the latter kinda tastes like a milder (both in heat and flavor) version of the former with a tangy tomato flavor to it, but gochujang doesnt really have an equivalent. Its (arguably) the backbone of Korean cooking for a reason - its sweet/salty/peppery/alcoholic flavor is very distinguished. Its also the stickiest substance Ive ever cooked with, moreso than honey/molasses/etc., and if making a marinade with it I highly recommend it being the first ingredient you put into the bowl or misc vessel, followed by whatever will most effectively break it down (i.e. vinegar).
2. Yeah rice would be the best alternative to apple cider for vinegar in this instance - maybe the best vinegar period, even. I mainly used apple cider because that kind specifically is supposed to counteract the blood clotting risk associated with pork, plus pork + apple in general is a time-honored pairing.

Id put blackberry/blueberry/quite a few others above either but between the two, grape.

Tbh strawberry would be one of my last choices, I like strawberry jelly but something about strawberry + peanut butter doesnt work for me at all, would much rather have it with cream cheese or just on its own over toast.

that pork looks really tasty. great grill marks. what do you marinate it in?

Thank you! If I remember right
-1/4 Cup Sweet Chili Sauce
-1/4 Cup Soy Sauce
-1 Tbsp Gochujang
-1 Tbsp Gochugaru
-1 Tbsp Apple Cider Vinegar
-1 Tbsp Sesame Oil
-4 Scallions, thinly sliced
-4 Cloves Garlic, minced
-2 Ginger Root, peeled & grated
-White Pepper
-Fish Sauce

Yielded enough to marinate six smaller-to-medium-sized pork chops.
i just got done with a very laborious process.... portioning out all that brown rice and quinoa. took me basically all afternoon and evening lol. it was tough. but there are almost 60 patties, so i should be set for a good while. got them just stacked up on a cutting board in the top shelf of the freezer for now, but tomorrow i will have to break them apart and individually wrap them in wax paper while frozen and stuff em all in a 2 gallon freezer bag. i usually only freeze them for a few hours and then do that, but this time it's gonna have to be overnight.

F. Hoping they turn out pretty well at least
