Yeah, we were running synchronous FF1, LTTP, and Hollow Knight. FF1 was the annoying part.

I finally tried one out at GDQ, but the setup took a REALLY long time.

Swole Yuna is just a joy to be around, but some of the most fun I had in that game was swerving Lulu into Auron after the -ra spells and turning her into a dodge tank with decently hard-hitting dolls.

I mean, I wasn't either but I'm glad it's a banger after how disappointed I was with Eden's final fight theme.

Damnit I still need just stethacanthus for that I'VE BEEN TRYING FOR MONTHS.

Anyways, ran the raid series last night. All three themes are awesome, which was refreshing after the neverending piano organ from wing 1 and constant (but awesome) barrage of Scream from wing 2.

The music scroll dropped for the final fight but I only rolled a 50 on it :(

Your options for 5 now, since you're in endgame mode (spoilers)
- Obtain Mime (you did this)
- Obtain the rest of the summons
- Fill out your spellbooks to completion, including Blue Magic.
- ...I forget what else, actually. 5 didn't have much in outside-Ethereal-Void content except for the GBA, did it?

Yeah don't watch that if you know your prior FFs and aren't caught up with the main story. It's got a pretty major character spoiler for what we already figured out was the next trial by process of elimination and basically dooms Vritra's sister, doesn't it?

Right. You wanna 8x shoot with Archer/Ninja? Go nuts, queen. Quick abuse as Time Mage Summoner? Sure! Completely trivialize a whole endgame area and super boss with Bard? Fuck yeah! Delete an eldritch abomination by throwing a buff at it with Chemist then abusing the power of math with Bluemage? Yep, we've got that too.

Even Berserker can have some fun if you know how the triggers function depending on what it wields, and its widely considered the "worst job."

Every Final Fantasy has some way to break it in half. FF5 has more than some, and that's what I love about it.

It's a personal favorite, and it improved on the foundations 3 laid so well. It almost makes me wish that XIV had sub-perks available like it/FFT/FFXI did but then I'm reminded that basically everyone had to spec to slot in Lucid Dreaming or Raging Strikes or something when XIV actually had such a system.

I'd argue that Stormblood has better story dungeons than Shadowbringers (because good lord did I get sick of Dohn Mehg and Malikah's Well during both ShB and EW) but ShB has better post-patch dungeons than StB.

Ackshully there's something going on right now where if you have the starter edition you get up to Stormblood free. Let me find the details.

Side note for the death parade that occurs in XIV from above:
The whole of Shadowbringers before you arrived probably also counts, with the mutated fate of the Sin Eaters to almost all of the villain's gallery except Ran'jit. Was something lost in translation with him?

1 is Garland, for sure. 2, Minwu. 3, for some reason I'm thinking Elia? 4, the Village of Mist as a whole. 5, Galuf. 6, over half the world when Kefka ascends. 7, duh, although backup points for Rufus getting crucified/the Midgar Zolom being impaled. 8, Trabia Garden. 9, Cleyra. X, I don't care about Home but Kilika came early and set a tone. X-2, the dream where Yuna is gunned down.
XI and XII, and XIII-LR I'm not familiar enough with.
13, the whole horrifying implication of basically every Ci'eth. 13-2, Serah at the end. 14, probably Ysayle not triggering any death flags for me, but Haurchefant is the most well known one. 15, Ardyn finally getting to expire.

I've got a lot of time in a small library today with terrible weather and get to randomly flip through the playlist today.

The good: this means stuff to support that I've had my eye on gets another go.
The bad: I'm nomcapped at the moment.
The result: probably making cuts today or tomorrow from my nominations and maybe even from a support or two. On my chopping block first are Ballad of the Mer and Hollywood. The first has received a few too many "too short" and multiple "too cringe" but thank you for the feedback anyways- I tried it last year and sunk with the ship, and I REALLY can't do that with limited nominations this year. The latter came in too late for something just a bit too... slow noir? Idk.

Once I phonepost the proper links though, spending two more doubles for locks in a moment.

Harvest is so much better with that flute and lower violin instead of a really shrill string/horn/blackboard with nails.

It's 5. I still am in the vast minority of people who say 6 is a bad game with a bad cast but a great villain.

Re: FF2- I'll give it points for daring to actually kill a lot of the visible characters in the game, including a rotation of your party members.

I'll also give it points that it is... INTERESTING to modify your characters. Unfortunately, the grind for it is just too much, and some plot points are cheapened (I cared about losing Minwu and Leila, couldn't give a rat's ass about the other rotating fourth slot)

Ff13 has a lot of bad things going for it. The gigantic corridor run until Archylte Steppe is inexcusable, half or more of the main cast is unlikable, and the story isn't told through the world interacting with you, it's told through stilted flashbacks and reading.

Still, the battle system is pretty fun to tinker with when you figure it out. I wish characters were a bit more customizable because I would drop Hope, Lightning, and Snow in a heartbeat instead of Snow and Sazh by the end.

Vanille should've been the "main character." I get they were trying to market female Cloud, but still.

Yeah, I know. Like, it's almost as bad as saying the "h" in "herbs" without being from Europe.

I've heard people pronounce it with the second T, and it drives me bonkers.

I do like how when you strip away the overarching conflict the main cast is just a dumb bunch of teenagers trying to find their way in a world with unexpected responsibility. Squall included. And I like how unlikable they are for that reason, strangely.

It wasn't as kursed as FF7's.

I still prefer the Squall died in disc 1's end cutscene theory.

General rules question for no particular reason:
If a player with a limited number of abilities, such as a jack or one time vig, gets roleblocked, do they permanently lose the action that they took? Or can it be used again on a future night?

Host dependent, but everything I've seen in my limited playtime was "you can repeat it if it failed." Notable with a day vigilante.

Lopen, I don't know specifically what I said (or did) to piss you off (was reading dead town chat) but I can assure you if I was doing it intentionally I'd apologize all the more profusely postgame. As it stands, I'm just confused. Was it something I did with my "reveal watch early" gamble?
