The game is trash, short fucking levels, empty as fuck open world, terrible physics, Sonic can't run on water, Sonic barely reacts that he's on uneven terrain and moves like he's glitching around, the side quests useless fetch quests with no real rewards, The forced 2D segments only highlight what little faith they had in open zone gameplay, the open zone looks less interesting to be in than fucking Sonic Utopia a shitty ass unfinished fan game from almost 8 years ago! Oh it's trash but trash that you could tell i it had an actual budget and writers would have been a nice mediocre game. Sega doesn't have any developers and this game shows it in spades, honestly Lost World and Forces showed it too but in this game it's totally clear to even a casual gamer head how few developers Sega has

Yeah, the hand-ons time that journalists had, sounded really promising. The IGN video said they only got the speed upgrade to level 10 out of 99 and it already seemed pretty damn fast. So looking forward to seeing how that looks maxed out lol.

Sonic has at a maximum 4 to 5 special moves which you'll get tired off after like 2 or so hours
The game forces 2d sections on you even in the open zone
the cyber space levels are Forces level short and straight up lifted from past sonic games in design
It seems confirmed that Green Hill, Chemical Plant, Sky Sanctuary and Speed Highway are the only things we'll see in cyber space in various forms such as a cyber green hill level that flat out rips off the sky rail level from sonic adventure 2 and another green hill level that rips off the level design from green forest also from sonic adventure 2.
It's clear whatever budget this game had they spent it on SAGE's VA, Marketing and the Opening and Ending songs, I'm Here and Vandalize because they definitely didn't spend it on level design and creation even the open zone isn't all that great, from the first Island on each Island has the same layout but different floor text like one is forest based, one is desert based and so on.

The awkward pop ins for the open zone really ruin that immersive feeling they were trying to give the player and instead it looks like one of those playground fangames like Sonic Utopia

The boss fights we see so far are rather gimmicky bordering on tedious, for Ashura you have to wait for it to drop it's arm and avoid the red pulses while going through the blue ones to reach it's head where you hit it's weak spot and for the flying enemy we have to run along either a trail it leaves or a never ending grind rail it leaves to attack it's weak point and each island will have these fights kind of like how Colors and Forces recycled the exact same boss fights and now even fan games do it like Sonic Omens

The music is okayish and goes for the techno feel like Forces did but not a lot of people like that, they'd rather something more exciting as for the open zone the music there is more slow and melancholy which is unfitting for Sonic

The story itself is suppose to be mysterious and apparently somber going by interviews and what feelings the ending song is suppose to convey

Overall the most I can see this game doing is a 6 receptive wise as for fan opinion, it will probably be mixed, some will hate it for being yet another shitty sonic game others will love it for trying something new and taking it and it's characters semi seriously again like Sonic Adventure to Sonic Unleashed
