As stated in the interview/behind the scenes thing I posted above, Marlene didnt realize how attached he was until he woke up. Immediately gave the order to shoot him if he tries anything after telling him he has to go and cant see her again. In terms of being presented options it is a lot more then he gave her when the roles were reversed.

After telling him she lost a bunch of crew that were her guards yet joel transported her by himself.......

Fireflies choosing to kill a child yet not kill the parental guardian figure is a huge mistake. You were fine killing a child and you were aware of Joel being violent. Youll kill a child to save humanity but you wont kill a nobody to protect your "cure"?

If youre going to kill ellie to save the world then you have to off her protector as well. How could you take issue with this yet not killing a child?

If Hydra was going down this road, kill ellie, then they had to shoot joel in the face too. No ones avenging joel with ellie also dead and no one will probably find out.

I know they had to keep the show going but i dont know what you think joel was going to do in reaction. And you ordered guards to kill him (if he tried anything) so theres no chance to negotiate your life either so he was right to kill marlene.

I disagree with those saying renegade doesnt affect things too badly. It distinctly has some pretty bad results all throughout.

What kills me is all the options of Cerberus being like "Save that thing and dont destroy it so we can gain info on fighting the enemy!"

This is always the bad choice and you should always say the "This is wrong and bad so im destroying it!"

I've been itching to replay these games cause I had ablast playing the remasters last year but I can't get over playing renegade. I feel like the choices just limit your rewards and kills off team mates. Is it worth it to play through the trilogy as a renegade shep? I'd start it up right now if so.

After ME2 i cant think of any renegade options i wish i took.....

But then theres literally no moral dilemma here. A major reason to play evil in other games is for the powers/characters/rewards. If its literally be good and get good results or be bad and get bad results: i dont even understand the choice.

I was really expecting a lot of:

Paragon: You did the morally right thing. Good job.

Renegade: You sacrificed many but got this awesome gun!

This never happens.

Its very boring cause Paragon is being a good guy and good things happen from essentially every paragon choice while renegade is being bad and bad outcomes.

There would be choices that sounded grey or that even the other choice might have good results but if it got you renegade points then bad consequences would happen later.

Theres seems to be no good renegade rewards, weapons, powers or characters exclusive to this path.

This is my only real gripe with these 2 games. Ill play 3 soon.

Because i didnt get it. It was so good i didnt get it.

Ok but even then its not that funny. Lets stop the movie and introduce him in a different tone and then explain him into the story. It takes a while and completely stops the momentum. Then we need a flashback to explain someones backstory slowing the movie down more.

When all this is done we still have little reason not to just leave. Like both long and the lead could just leave a few times. The lead was like even warned by someone to leave and she brushes it off.

And one part seems to suggest that this massive inbred monster was sneaking around while they were asleep. She never sneaks again nor had any reason to not attack/abduct them while they were asleep. That or i didnt get it.

The first 3rd is really good. But they revealed something too soon followed by longs weird introduction thats almost comedic, then a flashback thats meh ending in a very generic horror movie end....

And all throughout this movie they have many opportunities to just leave with very bad reasons why they dont. And you had to write the cops extremely stupid too.

If you suck and someones like you then you can see they suck too.
