Gonna need a source for that. Pit Bull type dogs and bull breeds are the most common, there are millions of Pits and Pit-mixes out there at an estimated 20 percent of around 90 million dogs in the US, shelters are full of them. On that list the GSD is at the top, I can count on one hand how many times I've seen a pure GSD in recent years, can't turn around without tripping over a bull breed around here.

Look at the break down of Shepherds on that graph. It has GSD at 100k and nothing else close but the overall total is 500k lol

Pits have only recently been banned in Canada and going back years sled dogs always had more fatalities.

There's plenty of lists i can come up with that will have more stats.

The issue being is that you cant based these things off breed. A husky isnt any more likely to bite someone if you train than any other breed.

Thats why we need responsible owners with the patience and time to care for these dogs to eliminate these incidents for the safety of both people and dogs.

This guy was saying huskies are some beautiful exotic animals that are just energetic vocal dogs. Both dogs are returned to the shelters at high rates.

My point was that in Canada, where theres more sled dogs than pits why are there more deaths from huskies than pits if pits are going to snap no matter what? If there's more pits in the US of course they will have more encounters.

My stance is that there is no bad dog breed but there are bad dog owners. Pitbulls fall victim to those owners and this is the shit that happens.

Dogs bite, its an unfortunate thing. Thats why we need responsible dog owners to train them not to. There's no breed that is prone to being a killer.

I'm not talking about the dangers of the person defaulting. Thats low risk in this situation.

My gf has almost no credit history. Lived at home with her parents and the places she lived alone were all owned by family members so she never needed to pay anything other than paying family directly. She never needed a credit card or to apply for things. Cars were all handed down etc etc.

Now she wants a new car and all the family cars are old and shitty. Since she has no history the dealer recommended a cosigner and i dont mind doing it since shes good with money and we have been together for years.

My issue is that i want to buy a new car soon too and how will it show up for me as a cosigner to her car?

Not in a sense where i think "Pitbulls" themselves are the problem.

I think genetics come into play where people who shouldn't be breeding dogs will breed dogs that have mental illnesses that are passed down which can make a dog unstable.

I've seen my dad beat a german shepherd to the point where it got out and before he could pick it up from the pound they put it down because it was so aggressive. I've also met enough pitbulls that are some of the greatest dogs ive met. I've seen people train chihuahuas where they are really great dogs. I've seen people who dont and they are the typical little assholes.

I've been around dogs my whole life and i dont believe the breed matters. I think each dog should be treated as an individual.

My own dog taught me that with training dogs that are "Aggressive" and untrainable can become sweethearts. My dog was very dog aggressive as a puppy due to trauma. With training and a lot of patience, she isnt that same way.

I love dogs and the rap that Pits have now is the rap that Rotties had before them. Then if they ban all pits then it will just be another big dog getting the blame.

Well, if you dont train to use a gun what will happen? You'll hurt yourself or hurt someone else.

If you dont train a dog what will happen? You'll hurt yourself, you'll hurt someone else, or you'll hurt the dog.

Dogs arent able to figure out on their own what they are doing is wrong. They learn it either from other dogs or people. If you dont teach your dog what its doing is wrong then its going to do those things and accidents will happen.

This is my mindset when i walk my dog. People never ever ever ever train chihuahuas and they often try to start shit with my dog and it kinda instilled in her to be reactive to them. Even with training i can get her to calm down and sit instead of actually reacting.

People will walk them off leash and they will run up to my dog and i have to yell "come get your dog" as their little shits try to posture up against my 80-pound dog. We got the point where my dog doesnt care much but the wrong dog that gets too big for his paws can easily get killed cause someone thinks their dog is an angel that they've never trained.

I love all dogs but i dont underestimate the level of stupidity from people and unfortunately its the dogs that suffer the consequences from it.

All huskies/malamutes arent sled dogs, all labs dont love water, all retrievers wont retrieve.

They are all trained to do that. They have characteristics/traits that make them better for it just like pits had the physical capabilities to make them great fighting dogs. They were loyal to humans and determined in tasks. Not to mention strong as hell and agile.

I cant get a GSD and be like "ok go find the drugs boy"

What do huskies and pits have in common? They are highly energetic dogs who are great at escaping. Dogs that dont get get stimulated get stressed and bored and they destroy things. A dog cant tell you "Hey man, i need out of this house im bored". They bark then they bite. They might not bite you but they'll bite something.

Now say that pitbull escapes. All he knows is his front yard. He hasnt been socialized or trained well and all this new information is overwhelming. Now he's running around the neighborhood scared and stressed.

A dog with no reaction training is a dog where something bad is going to happen. If all pits were just gonna bite there would be a near 100% bite rate on them.

Thats not true. Pits are strong yes but there are bigger and stronger dogs out there.

Also, any large dog bites will require major surgery if they get into you. A pit bull wont fuck you up anymore so than a GSD or a Rottweiler.

Pitbulls problems are that they are available in large numbers and people dont train them. Same with chihuahuas but only one can rip your arm off

My point was theres nothing inherently wrong with having an agenda to bring more awareness for pitbull victims if they have some personal reason for doing so. Since TC hasnt divulged his reasons for focusing on pitbull attacks in particular we cant assume hes being disingenuous just because we dont like topics that highlights how vicious pitbulls can be.
