The simple but tactical gameplay. The class system since I noticed most of the turn based games I like have some sort of customizable class system. Promotions acting like evolved forms in Pokemon. The music. I honestly personally don't get how the medieval fantasy aesthetic got associated with waifuism/husbandoism as I think medieval clothes are very unappealing.

Oh, so it's not right on the day of the mission? Since in most months it's best to do Battles before the mission.
I also just don't want my Albinean Mooses and Umbral Steel to go to waste since I stockpiled way more of them than I thought.

Something I'm curious about since I'm gearing up to the endgame of this route soon, does the final month before Endgame allow you to have a free Monastery Explore before the final map? Or do you have to give up an auxiliary battle or keep a save file in the monastery if you want to do things like buy more ore or use the sightseer before the final battle? Also, what happens to my storehouse inventory? Should I turn everything into renown at the pagan altar?

Did Byleth really kill Edelgard like that? I thought I'd at least be given a choice on this route since I assume you'd definitely kill her on the Blue Lion route. Maybe she gets to live on SS? Or she might die on every route besides her own.

That's an issue with the people who do that, not the media itself, (unless the media's intended target audience was those people) . There are people like that for every media.

I never watched it but I appreciate it putting powerful female oriented animations on the map.

I stopped following it after they butchered the surface fight and garou vs saitama arc. Last I heard they created an entire new antagonist for this arc because Tatsumaki is a good guy on good terms with Fubuki now.

tfw your medieval setting has nukes before it gets basic firearms. I actually love it. I quickly stride killed DK to see what the map would be like but it seems like it'd be tough to both get all the enemy drops including the demonic beast armor breaks and treasure and kill DK before he runs away. I think it's possible if I use a bunch of flyers, stride, and Flayn's rescue to keep Nader from proccing DK.

Ingrid and Claude's A+ support was awful jeez. And you had to do two A conversations to unlock it. Both Raphael and Petra are better for the two of them imo.
The game giving Trade Secrets to Assassins is such a troll move. They have more speed than ATK. Not even my Petra can steal from them.

I think it peaked with Ozon Baby myself. A three way free for all where every side had their ingenious moments, from Jobin and Tsurugi, to Josuke and Rai, to Poor Tom. And the stand itself is pretty unique.

I want Kei to return. She was barely pursuing Tooru in the first place since her main motivation was to deliver the phone to Josuke and her almost hitting WoU was just collateral damage. Kaato intending to have Tooru "help" Tsurugi was way more direct than that. Kei's death was incredibly lame when his direct pursuers survived much worse hits and it was more for the shock value than anything. I don't think he even follows up on it either.

I think one of the end's most fundamental problems is misusing the Higashikatas and Jobin, which can't really be fixed.

That said, apparently the known premise of part 9 so far is the Jojo "sailing to an island looking to get rich", which could certainly resurface the rokakaka plotline, since they're found in southern islands.

Heavy copium but I'm hoping maybe some of the characters who died aren't actually dead. And he can certainly do a Jotaro and make a returning character from part 8 be much more developed and interesting in part 9 then 8.

Honestly just feels unfinished. Kind of expecting part 9 to continue off from it.

Perfect timing for the topic to come up again. I was busy for around a week so I finally managed to get some more progress done today, including doing a genuine run of Blood of Eagle and Lion. The Hubert path tactic worked. After clearing him out the Blue Lions started attacking the imperial army and even the Assassin (Petra's replacement apparently) who was going for me went after them instead. They started annihilating each other while I waited right outside Edelgard's range. Just like the first Gronder field Blue Lions destroyed the Eagles (even if I cleaned up some enemies on the left) and Felix himself one rounded Edelgard with a crit. I wanted the EXP and drops for myself though so I divine pulsed before they started attacking each other and went to attack them myself.

You absolutely can't leave anyone in range of Edelgard (unless they can kill with the counterattack) or Dimitri though. Edelgard kills my tankiest Raphael/Ferdinand with Raging Storm then another Raging Storm and Dimitri just one-shots literally everybody with Atrocity.

Are you playing it right now? Golden Court is legit top 5 cases in the series. That scene at the end is absolutely legendary. And the bit after that is probably the angriest we ever see Phoenix.

He was a trashy low-effort influencer before it was cool. I think he's actually worse than most influencers.

That's already Dead Rising. But hopefully it goes back to being like 1 and 2 and retcons 4 away.

Sahdmahdi is a Klavier-tier prosecutor though, I agree, and a lot of the execution and extra fluff leaves a lot to be desired. Athena gets done dirty, again.
AA5 has a waaaaay better treatment of Apollo and it will never not be weird to me they shoehorned an entire new wrinkle into Apollo's story and just...completely dropped everything AA4 revealed.

From what I remember at launch he just really really hates Dhurke. AA6 is one of the more innovative and creative games in the series with one of the better repertoire of witnesses and handled Apollo and Trucy far better than its predecessors imo. I'd also say Phoenix was at his most competent here other than the civil trial. Athena was kind of a footnote though.

Every lead against Zieks would inevitably lead to him though. It's not like he created some fabrication to mislead Kazuma with forged evidence or anything. He just let Kazuma wing it and seemed to expect Kazuma to somehow solely implicate Zieks purely on actual evidence even though any evidence to Zieks would also obviously lead to Stronghart. You can tell Stronghart is an idiot when the moment it gets revealed that Stronghart was the prosecutor for the Professor case before Van Zieks (which would obviously be brought up. It's not like he even tried to hide it, it was on record) he immediately changes tune from "Zieks does have a connection with the Professor!" to "Kazuma you're grasping for straws and talking nonsense. Also you're Japanese"

At least Von Karma actually forged evidence and planned things ahead of time, taking away all the evidence of the DL-6 incident besides the one Maya accidentally took.

I didn't want to draw attention to it until TC was done but this was the final climatic track in the game that only played at the very end lol.

And also, yeah it was very cathartic with a lot of pathos but I do think Stronghart being the final villain makes a lot of things make no sense on hindsight (biggest one I remember is why Stronghart didn't just send Ryunosuke right back since there's no reason to keep him around and Ryunosuke not even having a legal reason to stay there (that Stronghart as the Chief Justice) should be able to revoke at any reason anyway) and Jigoku says that Ryunosuke being there was a spanner in their plans even though in case 4 Mikotoba claims Jigoku was a huge supporter of him being there and that he wouldn't have been able to stay if it wasn't for Jigoku.
Definitely a lot of other things like why Stronghart chose Kazuma as his prosecutor instead of one of his lackies as Kazuma as the prosecutor put him in a unique position where all three of the defense, prosecutor, and defendant were all against him after Ryunosuke was able to convince him, why Stronghart allowed Kazuma to continue to try to implicate Zieks as the Reaper even though he knows any leads to Zieks would inevitably lead to him as well (dude had the audacity to say "aha so there IS a connection" when Kazuma says Zieks was the prosecutor of the case even though obviously Zieks if not Ryunosuke would bring up that Stronghart was the prosecutor before him), and why Stronghart felt the need to kill Gregson and Watson who were nothing but loyal to him (Gregson even being willing to die to keep his secret, Watson on the other side of the globe and the game not showing any reason for him to want to suddenly betray Stronghart which would also ruin his own career) to begin with. But he leaves Tussards and Drebber alive who were both much looser cannons.
Stronghart being the mastermind just puts so many things into question I actually wonder if there were a bunch of things changed around during development. His breakdown is one of the best in the series at least.
Zieks being Iris's uncle is cool as well and Klint being the Professor all along was a great twist.

Not really, it's just logical common sense to conclude that people are comparing the mainstream of today to the mainstream they remember, which I'd assume is around the late 90s-2000s on average for people here. I mean, yeah, if you're getting into the 80s, games were mostly 8bit pixels that probably did brick platforms (Nintendo's whole seal of quality was meant to say a game actually worked) but I'd say a fair number of people here weren't alive then.

Myth 2 from Bungie also had a bug where if you uninstalled the game on PC you could risk your entire C Drive being deleted.

I remember Prince of Persia Warrior Within being a really buggy game. An infamous example being a game breaking bug where if you saved in the wrong place you could no longer progress.

Of course you can pick out tons of examples from the past but the point is that's become the default for most AAA games these days while it was more of a noticeable exception in older mainstream games or relegated to smaller titles. I think it doesn't help that action games are the most prone to this including in the past where action games shared the field with other genres like Turn Based RPGs and Platformers while nowadays they dominate the gaming market.

I've never heard of any of those. It seems you're going very far back too and I'm not sure if they'd be considered "AAA" even for their time. Whereas stuff like Mass Effect Andromeda, Cyberpunk, Fallout, are multimillion sellers from the biggest studios in gaming. Stuff like Dead Space, Halo, and the previous games of the aforementioned franchises released with enough content without needing any big update/patches.

I'm usually one to criticize nostalgia goggles but this is a bit disingenuous. Those stuff were mainly for shovelware whereas extremely bugged practically betas that are expected to be fixed with patches and with day 1 DLC and season passes are being released for the most mainstream household names these days. There's also practically no equivalent in the past to stuff like microtransactions and lootboxes. That said, I think this is more of a problem with the AAA gaming industry and it happens less with non-AAA games and indies. So basically, a lot of AAA gaming is worse than the past but other games are still good, maybe even better.

That varies but they're pretty visibly more money-grubbing these days.

Caffeine outright makes me more exhausted so I can't drink coffee without demolishing my productivity. Ironically I actually like the taste of coffee

That would've been a much more interesting for sure and would've tied into the "chaos" Edelgard mentioned nicely. Would've certainly made the fight harder too. Maybe a bit too hard if you've got monsters like 60 ATK 40 AS Felix and Dimitri appearing out of nowhere. Still though, the fight itself was still very fun and emotional, just a bit awkward story-wise.

Yeah, it is possible to get through it without letting any of the former students die if you can get to and beat Edelgard + Dimitri quickly. Though it doesn't really have an effect on anything since you never see or hear about those characters again (except for the ones that escape instead of dying like Hubert).

I did a test run first and managed to beat it without killing anyone but Bern and Sylvain who spawns right behind you by having Lysithea warp Byleth and Ingrid to kill the commanders. Bern just seems especially hard to avoid since she's in the middle of the map I've committed to my path though so I'm probably going to take everyone down for EXP and their weapon drops. Actually, I might try going the long way to Hubert and see how things work out there.

Also, Supply Run is definitely the worst quest in the game. Thought it needed Zanado Treasure Fruit so I used save scumming and multiple save files to check to guarantee I'd get some on the next explore only to find out that what she wanted was ZANADO FRUIT after I'd already planted my seeds and saved over my main file. Why are these two different fruits and why are both of them not buyable? Even Boa Fruits and Angelicas are buyable. Ugh, looks like I'll have to skip this quest this month since auxillary battles give more renown and gold and I can do 3 per month even though I could've done it

My former favorite series. I 100%ed DR including 7 day survivor and DR2 including getting the TIR Moosehead that required 1 million TIR points from that online mode. And DR2 Off the Record with those multiplayer achievements.

It's pretty sad to see that they survived for 5 years only to die so fast in this one battle though. Yeah, you sure didn't make Bernadetta lose her life in vain Edelgard... I wonder if it's possible to keep Bernadetta alive since even if you ignore her the Kingdom army eventually charges up there.

On another note I was not expecting Duke Aegir to look like that lol. Is it just me or are these paralogues (I also did Claude's) harder than the actual mission.

Ashe is also really putting in work for me.
