I have a lot of authentic Chinese right here on the Queens border. Overpriced but the Cantonese one really stands out.

I much prefer the down and dirty western Chinese food. Sometimes you just have to go into Manhattan and descend into the Wo-Hop dungeon.

Even for credit cards that include clear on top of pre-check, it's not worth it.

You're paying so much money to save literally 5 seconds in the pre-check line. And even if you didn't have pre-check, it's not worth it on its own.

Pre-check and whatever JetBlue is doing for their even more speed thing are much better deals.

Maybe if there was a tremendous line just to check your driver's license or passport, it could be worth it. But that's not the case.

Clear doesn't even replace pre-check. What good is spending that much money to log in with a fingerprint when the TSA is about to do facial recognition very soon.

It's literally set and forget. You get to watch it grow like a small child.

It's your future. Don't call it a scam.

And don't worry about "risk". Your 401k is built around mitigating it and preventing it from being worthless. If you don't like the investments, you can always rebalance them with no tax penalty. I probably missed out a bit by not switching to a managed account earlier. Should be only 0.3% fee in most cases.

The alternatives suck.

  • 3-fund or target date fund IRA and forgo lots of free money
  • Humping govt bonds or bank CDs for safe yet tiny growth
  • Keep money in your checking account or couch and never be able to retire.
Worship your 401k and contribute at least enough for the company match. Anything between that and 15% is up to you and what you can afford.

All of these red state governors have been told repeatedly to cooperate with other states and not to just randomly drop people off.

Guess which makes for a better photo op at the expense of human dignity?

Imagine being a migrant that ends up consenting to being sent across multiple state lines with not much of a clue as to where they're going or any infrastructure that will be in place once they get there. Likely not even the place they want to be or where they have family.
