I watched her wither away for almost 2 months because I couldn't get her in anywhere local. I had to drive 2 hours to an emergency vet, only to be told that the kindest thing to do was euthanasia. The release afterwards was the furthest thing from catharsis. I was a mess She started getting really aggressive and I found a lump on her side. They said it was a sarcoma that can be caused by vaccinations. Told me to keep her comfortable until she was ready. I walked out of the vet and threw up in the parking lot. Drove home and got stuck in a blizzard. She hated being in a carrier so I let her lay in my lap until we made it home. I promised I'd never put her in a carrier again. A month later we called someone to come to the house to put her to rest. The morning of the appointment is when that picture was taken. She looks cheerful and full of life but was clearly in pain. On my way to work "Last Day Under The Sun" by Volbeat came on the radio and I couldn't keep it together. I left early to spend a few hours with her. I held her in my lap while she went. I picked up her ashes on a grey, rainy day. When I took the box out of the bad the rain immediately stopped and sunlight reflected on the plaque with her name on it. I don't believe in supernatural shit but it felt so fucking surreal. I love the cats I have now but no pet will ever hold a candle to Ember --- I guess I'm something of a ne'er do well. Pittsburgh |

I had never been to the theater before, but it's pretty well respected in the city for being one of the only places to see foreign or obscure indie films. But at the beginning there was a screen that said "Subtitles by @_________" and coupled with the center channel being too loud, it became apparent that we were being shown a bootleg. I have to try and separate "made me sob the most" from saddest because they dont necessarily equate. The French Canadian film Mommy could be a good answer. Everytime it picks you up it drops you right back on your face. The Man Who Wasn't There, which may be my favorite Coen Brothers film, is pretty bleak. The "Ghost" monologue describes the way I feel when I'm at my worst. I watch Arrival every now and then drunk just to masterbate my emotions.
