Ellie is on the course of revenge and there's a lot of blowback and collateral damage.

for Abby, she's on a path of redemption - she's not feeling the satisfaction around killing Joel, and her nightmares are still there. so, she ends up helping a couple of kids.

she doesn't even know all she's lost to Ellie until the end, likely because it would throw a wrench in that course of progression.

we only see glimpses of the Abby gunning for revenge, the one who pushed Owen away (like Ellie did Dina), who Mel called an asshole, who became Isaac's top "Scar Killer", etc. through flashbacks; all the stuff that she found wasn't worth it, same with Ellie.

I watched about 100 something episodes, but then I realized I'd have to watch about 10x that, so I dropped it

I watched one of the interviews a while back, and I think Neil Druckmann said he initially wanted Joel and Ellie to hug during that final scene, but Ashley Johnson suggested it was better if they didn't because they weren't at that place yet, when he was asked about if the actors ever gave suggestions/had push back.

I googled, and she was born in Japan.

and it looks like if you have dual citizenship with Japan, you have to choose to be a national of one of the countries by the time you're a certain age, and she apparently gave up her American citizenship.

I recommend The Burning Series, by Evan Winter (African-inspired fantasy series).

two books are out (out of four, I think), so far, and it's really action-packed.

there's also The Black Star trilogy, by Marlon James, which is really well-written, and is also an African-inspired fantasy series, but this one feels more authentic with its influences, IMO.

also, only the first two books are out.

I just know a lot of people wanted something more "heroic" and/or meaningful, but unfortunately, violent deaths are mostly meaningless and leave those left behind trying to make sense of it all

The story wanted a theme of utilizing perspective to contextualize the motive after the fact, but the story always bothers me for failing to establish abby's motive to ellie properly giving the story an air of misunderstanding which looms, and came to a point during the ellie boss battle, and i believe causing people to rage in hindsight. Years later i respect what they did as they were asking so much of whoever played the game, and it could very well be seen as an accomplishment that players would let abby die there. lol

I think that, the lack of understanding is what made the ending more poignant.

like, even not fully knowing Abby's side, Ellie was able to push herself to sparing her, even if it was just for Lev's sake, knew that it wasn't what Joel would want for her, or whatever the reason.

I got about halfway into it, and while I was enjoying the game, that level of enjoyment decreased a little once I reached the one capital. anyway, I put the game down for a while, but I recently decided to get back into it, and I felt it was best to start from the beginning.

I'm going to do the same thing with Final Fantasy VII Remake.

ND already does this pretty well with TLoU games, tbh, with the logs, notes, environmental storytelling, etc., but I guess they could focus more on it.

it would be more interesting if it was somehow incorporated with the main narrative (on going story) than just the smaller story's that help establish the world.

I hope this is the first of many) good, or better, video game adaptations.

See, Las Vegas eatery Frankensons pizzeria which offers "killer comfort food" was a ghost town desperate for customers. The family-owned business was fated to end badly, that is until a famous TikTok influencer and food critic stepped in, looking to help. He was also looking to gorge on some spooky garlic knots and peach chutney wings, which turned out to be packed with life-changing flavor. But, of course, the life that was really changed is that of owner Frank Steele.

I had this guy come in and didnt know who he was, and I started talking to him because I like talking to all my customers. I asked him where he was from and what he did for work, and thats when he said he was a food critic, Frank told KTNV Las Vegas. So, who's the mystery critic?

Food reviewer Keith Lee has over 8 million followers on TikTok.
Keith Lee, a "married dad," received a brutally honest email from a Frankensons employee explaining the somber realities of the family business. According to the employee, business was extremely slow, they could barely afford rent, and the sole reason for their struggles concerned marketing (the employee swore the food was delicious). The owner had no idea said employee contacted Keith.

"The owner reached out to another food creator, and they tried to charge us $2,600 to do a food review," Keith says in his January 2023 TikTok video, summarizing the email he received. He goes on to relay that he didn't charge a penny for his personal review and he purchased his own food.

When he visited Frankensons, Keith was dead set on finding out if the food and/or service was bad, or if the lack of customers really did have to do with insufficient marketing.

While Keith was thoroughly impressed with most of his spread (he thought the ranch was a bit bitter, however) which he spent $86.73 on he was wowed by the lemon pepper sauce wings. "This is one of the best wings I've ever had. This is a 10," Keith exclaims.

"Frank, from me to you, this is my opinion: There is no way you should be behind on rent, or struggling to pay rent. It is marketing. That's 100 percent what I feel like. That food is delicious. The service is amazing," he continues.

Keith's review video has been viewed over 30 million times and has earned over 6 million likes. Naturally, Frankensons was forever changed. Lines began forming out the door all because of Keith's TikTok video.

Our phone never stopped ringing. Ive sold more lemon pepper wings in the last two days than I have in the past four months. I made more garlic knots yesterday and the day before than Ive ever made, Frank explained to KTNV Las Vegas. I have people coming in from Iowa, people from California, Lake Havasu. I had people come down from Utah, all because of this video."

Its just been overwhelming. It's been a blessing. This restaurant has been a dream of mine for 30 years, he continued, clearly emotional.

Before Keith's review, Frankensons struggled to make $400 in a day. Today, business is booming.
