But after watching a few, I realized why people do it: it's the closest one can ever get to ever experiencing something again "for the first time" (short of actual memory loss). For example, once you've played any particular Resident Evil game, it'll never again be like the first time you played it. Experiencing other people freak out or realizing the twists and such let's you be as close as you can get to experiencing your first time.
