And fully loaded lucid is $300k. I like their exterior but lucid interior reminds me of elderly people styling and it lacks basic modern features. Not that I can afford one I just been looking for an ev and it still appears to be tesla or nothing out there.

What's wrong with this? WHO seems to be on board with it.
After immense pressure to not enforce the patent protection portion of it Gates fought for. Remember when I said the pressure was so immense (from the public, academics, the predictable failings of production, and a domino effect of world governments) that even Bill eventually caved on this?

The problems with the pharmaceutical industry predate Bill Gates and have strong anchors in junk like Citizens United which allows pharmaceuticals to funnel nearly unlimited dark money as bribes to corrupt politicians.

The best case scenario is a world where we don't need the philanthropy of billionaires to get shit done.
While there was corruption before Bill, he's been at this for decades and has been one of the most influential people in modern history. We got medicare and social security before his type of wealth came swinging. Bill has a lot of money invested in these corporations and desires the same kind of regulation to benefit himself. He has been the largest single entity of "dark money" that bribes politicians. He likes that we have to rely on his dumb whims to get shit done.

Gates didn't create or own the patents to any COVID vaccines so his opinions on them don't mean anything.
Global health czar Bill Gates had other thoughts. Maintaining his steadfast commitment to intellectual property rights, Gates pushed for a plan that would permit companies to hold exclusive rights to lifesaving medicines, no matter how much they benefited from public funding. Given the enormous influence Gates has in the global public health world, his vision ultimately won out in the Covax programwhich enshrines monopoly patent rights and relies on the charitable whims of rich countries and pharmaceutical giants to provide vaccines to most of the world.

We regulate big pharma profits the way we do in large part because of Bill Gates (as cited above) and his billionaire colleagues.

It wasn't really a random idea. He tried to copy some European education paradigms in America because he figured "if it worked for them it'll work for us" and it didn't.
I'm sorry but "when I traveled I think I saw them organize more like this" isn't qualifying anymore than a random cheese slice idea. If he wanted to organize us more like European schools he should've actually done something that remotely resembled that. Especially their deeper systematic funding for public education part and let the adults in the room decide.

This is me being charitable with his ignorance when his long list of donations to politicians with market based educational ideologies says malice.

Tyranthraxus posted...
Regardless even if you don't count this one specific thing as Charity, he's funded tons of other things at the direction of the experts in those fields. He's funded lots of medical R&D on vaccination and birth control. He's spent billions on funding infrastructure projects geared towards achieving zero carbon.

Just because his one experiment with schools didn't work out, doesn't mean he hasn't been charitable.
Yes Bill has invested a ton of money in positive media coverage for his "charity." He tried to maintain his "charitable foundation's" stance on protecting patents on the covid vaccine, keeping many from getting vaccinated out of pure greed until that predictably became such a nightmare for his image that he was forced to reverse his comments.

Yes. When an expert tries to make progress in their field backed with research, that's ok.

When a dummy with money comes in and bulldozes things to make matters worse because he had an idea and no one has ever been able to tell him no, that's a problem.

We don't blame leading scientists for an experimental treatment failing.
We would blame a billionaire coming into that same research center with his random idea of cheese slices failing to help patients.

Yeah some guy with 0 knowledge of the public education system tried to change things for years and it didn't work out what's the big deal. Everyone gets lost in the sauce of their own yes-men and tries their hand at public education while ignoring experts. So what if you donate to politicians pushing for charters and private schools.
