But if it's a functional game with high budget and usually open world? Probably gonna get a 90+. It would literally have nothing to do with how good the actual game is. Gaming journalism has been a joke for decades. At least in the early 2000's they tried to hire actual writers

There really isn't any morality argument to be had. DirecTV wouldn't advertise where to watch Newsmax and say they'd love to keep them around if it had anything to do with morality.

The only thing that upsets me about the nominations are the lack of nominations for RRR (best directed movie of the year IMO, plus a few technical) and Pinocchio. Pinocchio should have been nominated for Adapted Screenplay, score (possibly the best of the year) and production design. The fact that the voters ignored its production design is baffling. The voters just think animation and move on, but they built those gorgeous sets.

This is such a bad argument. Of course I cant boycott/protest every single entity out there, because at that point you're just rallying against a complex chain of oppression that spans centuries and continents. But what I can do is choose a handful of causes that I absolutely won't give money to, and make that an additional form of activism.

"You can't protest this bad thing unless you simultaneously protest all bad things" is a purposely impossible standard to hold people to in order to discredit them. That's all it is.
