Ultimate Battle 22 was actually pretty good for its era, but North America got it late...and I played it after playing Budokai 1 to death, which isn't really fair. I was kind of blown away that a PS1 game had access to all those late-series characters like Gotenks and Kid Buu. Even Budokai 1 didn't have those guys. It was amazing, but the gameplay also felt very dated by comparison.

And having the Japanese-only voices made it feel especially weird to ~13-year-old me who had never seen a subbed anime in my life.

Sagas, on the other hand, was just outright not very good. It had some stuff going for it. The destructible environments were fun to mess around in--especially Namek with the buildings--and the beat-em-up formula works fairly well for a DBZ game. The problem is that all the mechanics were buggy as shit and the animations were silly to look at. Bosses were enormous health sponges, enemies were repetitive...overall, it had a good concept but needed another full year in development.

I remember playing the 2-player co-op with one of my best friends, and we got to the part where we were fighting Final Form Frieza as Super Saiyan Goku...and somehow or another when I threw a punch, Frieza latched onto my fist and started T-posing. Like, he was connected to my fist. When I would throw a punch, he would move with it.

It made the fight impossible to win, but it was so incredibly funny that I'll never forget it. Sagas was a terrible game but an amazing experience.

I don't fully understand the point of doing live action remakes at all, honestly, but if you're going to do them you should make them as close to the original as possible.

I agree with you. Loved the game, but the pointless fetch quests, etc., just.. kill the replay value.

From a game with such strong characters in the main story, it's weird how poorly it presents the quests within the open world.

Social media has played a role in amplifying people based on a single character trait. They play to demographics instead of individuals, and they form their entire identities around their most 'marketable' personality traits.

Then, once they're known for it, they can't just stop being that way. It's one of the causes of YouTube and streamer burnout. Pretending to be something you aren't, forcing adherence to a niche you've lost your passion for...

Milk is awesome though. Goes great with cereal, great with donuts and cookies (anything sugary, really) and makes a fantastic addition to coffee.

It's also way better to use milk for hot cocoa mix instead of water.

It's definitely real, but it gets treated as such an all-or-nothing issue that people either think it's the worst thing ever or it doesn't exist at all.

People say it doesn't exist because Dave Chapelle is still on Netflix, but in doing so they ignore the fact that there was a massive campaign on social media and within the Netflix offices themselves to get him taken off the platform.

Failing to cancel somebody does not mean that the culture isn't there. The fact that people resort so often to boycotts and public shaming is exactly the issue.

Hogwarts Legacy/JK Rowling is another example. The harassment campaigns, threats, and organized efforts to blame and shame people for playing the game may have failed to put a dent in its sales, but the existence of the widespread movement cannot be denied.

It does exist. It is a problem. It leads to hate and aggression against not just creators, but those who view or play the content as well. That's when it really crosses the line.

Mods are a big source of this for me. That's one of the reasons I like playing games on PC so much nowadays. If the game has a stupid or annoying feature/bug, odds are that somebody out there made a mod or a patch designed to fix the issue.

It's hard to get much notice with original story stuff, so be prepared for that. A lot of people post it on their tumblr or other social media.

Then there's fictionpress.com, which is essentially identical to fanfiction.net except it's for original stories.

I never cared too much about the war table stuff. A lot of games have those kinds of missions and, while they're kind of dumb, they're so passive it's hard to care one way or another about them. Go to the menu, activate some missions, come back later.

The biggest issue I have with the war table is the mandatory nature of it. You need to use it to unlock new areas (which costs power), you need to use it to advance a lot of the side quests for your party's story lines, you need to use it for so much stuff that it didn't need to be used for.

It just has an odorous nature. Like...the game is fun, it's got a lot of positive traits going for it. But its negative traits are big negative. If I wasn't playing through it with my girlfriend (taking turns back and forth) I'd have probably burned out on it twenty hours ago.

Honestly, it's one of the reasons I can't get into One Piece. It's like 50% amazing story, rich world, awesome characters... and then 50% lazy gags, meandering side character subplots, and formulaic repetition.

I love the story, hate the series. I like to watch reviews, read the wiki, etc. but I just can't follow the actual series no matter how many times I've tried lol

You have very low odds of being bitten by a brown recluse unless it gets stuck in your clothes or your shoe or something. They get their name because they go out of their way to avoid people in general.

There are stories of people living in houses literally filled with brown recluse but they were never bitten.

I'll never forget the SVU episode.

Whose idea was it to fill the game with side quests, then sneak in a system that makes a large amount of those side quests mandatory in order to progress the main story?

I love the characters and the world they live in, but the busy work makes me feel like I'm playing an MMO without the social aspect. Fetch quests with no reward, checklists, mission table shit...

Inquisition has everything that's wrong with open world games. The combat is fun and looks great, but man does the pacing suffer for all the filler shit.

Coming hot off of Dragon Age II, which has basically flawless pacing that never felt like I was meandering... Inquisition is really frustrating. In most ways Inquisition is an upgrade, but I have enjoyed my DAII experience much more overall because it moved from good part to good part way more fluidly.

The whole mission table thing is incredibly tedious. Unlocking a place in the game only to be told that I have to go back to the mission table to 'actually' unlock it is literally torture.

They're not really a threat to the real world at that size, but there's a whole other universe down there that has its own people and civilizations.

Plus, in the movie there's a villain who was banished there, and his entire motive is to try and escape into our world again.

People make all kinds of Malcolm in the Middle jokes about Bryan Cranston in Breaking Bad, but that doesn't even slightly detract from his performance in the show.

If anything, it's an enhancement.

I personally love it when a creator has a list of 'favorite' actors and other crew members to work with. It means they mesh well creatively and believe they do good work together. Keeps morale up when the people involved are actually on good terms with one another, too. As an audience, you can usually 'feel' whether or not an actor is actually invested in the film they're making, and I think working with familiar people contributes greatly to that.

I've been liking these token sales. I'm getting very close to being finished with Series 3, so I've started to save tokens now. My new goal is to get some of the more elusive Series 4 and 5 cards. I think Thanos is the one I want most right now.

The first one is top 3 Pixar along with Finding Nemo and Toy Story 2.

Incredibles 2 is mid-tier Pixar at best, but still pretty cool and fun.

He objectively has blue eyes. He objectively has dark hair. His BMI is objectively in a normal/lean range. The angles and dimensions of his face can be objectively measured. He objectively dresses in suits and other clothes which are more expensive than average.

Some people definitely find those objective traits to be attractive, but that does not make him "objectively attractive." Maybe you can say "his traits make it more likely than not for people to find him attractive," but to call him objectively attractive is a misunderstanding of attraction and beauty in general.

Attraction, beauty, artistic value, etc. are subjective categories. The measurement of such abstract values will come out different depending on the observer.
