MTG products are planned around two years in advance and have to be because of the printing schedule. This isn't in response to the economy.

I understand sets bc of designing, painting commissions, play testing to get power level right, but this is just straight to consumer reprints. It probably took them way less than 2 years to come up with this.

Rich people should always do prenup. Id just part ways, divide some property and figure out child custody, alimony.

I wonder if there was some knowledge still unknown to people from this day and age.

Wotc whishes more than anything they could reprint Black Lotus and other reserved cards so they could tap into the equity those cards have. They cant reprint them due to a promise they made and lawsuits would not make it worthy. So these NOT LEGAL cards are a sneaky way to circumvent the reserve list and tap slightly into that equity with the promise that youll get a VERY EXPENSIVE card(yet totally not playable in tournaments). Its gambling cause to top it off theyll be inside boosters with a bunch of common cards.

It will probably sell out because of whales, collectors and some people getting a shot of owning an OFFICIAL proxy card they can use for their commander decks.

So theyre thinking "oh a black lotus, moxes are valued at thousands then I bet some people would pay good money for an official proxy card"

They turn more fearful and anxious. Its like their amygdala suddenly becomes hyper active. Then they just sit all day to watch the news which feeds heavily into that fear and it becomes a downward spiral.

Kinda like my wifes aunt who was a flight steward ALL HER LIFE then shes suddenly afraid of flying to the point of not flying to her daughters wedding.

All these last last years MTG has shows explosive growth sales/revenue wise and this recession is threatening to put a stop to that. Latest products like dominaria are not selling as much expected even though theyre quite decent products with powerful cards. But recession coupled with product fatigue is bound to them some damage. I imagine this 1k product is them bringing out the really big guns.

1k is beyond abusive just for the CHANCE at power 9, dual lands THAT CANT BE PLAYED beyond casual games. Fuck Hasbro.

Yet...Its probably my only chance at getting dual lands at a sub 200 price.

Imagine being forced to buy at og price when stocks are free fall. Get wrecked musk.
