The Falcons are in such disarray that they're talking about benching Mariota for Desmond Ridder. They aren't making the playoffs.

Yeah, the Packers are in a tough spot because it's practically impossible for them to win their division now, and the NFC East is looking likely to get 3 playoff teams this year, leaving only one spot left for everyone else. I don't think they can beat out whoever doesn't win the NFC West between San Francisco and Seattle unless one of them really drops off in the second half of the season.

uh oh my worst fears are being realized now that USC is the Pac-12's only hope of making the playoff and they're talking about how they can get in over Tennessee despite essentially being a worse version of the Vols

they're a team with a good offense and bad defense like us, except our offense and defense are better and our resume is way better since USC lost to the one ranked team it's played, but the media just wants the sexiness of USC in the playoff, where UGA would drub them like they drubbed Oregon

For those of you who recall, this is a project I started many years ago. I stopped after completing Spirit of Justice because I dreaded the prospect of Layton vs. Ace Attorney (for good reason). The release of The Great Ace Attorney Chronicles last year got me to pick this up again, and now after completing Layton/AA, it's finished (until Ace Attorney 7 anyway). I also have some Time Stats left to do. The only thing I'm missing there is a replay of the GAA games, but it's hard to get dedicated time to sit down and time my playthroughs with a 6 month old baby, so who knows when I'll get around to that. Perhaps an AA7 announcement would get me into gear...!

It still won't be a better resume than beating Alabama and LSU as long as both of those keep winning. They've currently got a ranked win over Kentucky, too. Like I said earlier, the disaster scenario for Tennessee is Ole Miss winning the SEC West, which is still in play.

And if we're going by "were ranked when they played," Tennessee has 6 of those...! Oregon beating those teams will probably result in them becoming unranked (except for Utah).

I agree there's a path for Oregon to jump Tennessee if they want to place high value on winning your conference, but Oregon's got one good win so far and that's UCLA (which the committee clearly doesn't think is that good despite being a 1-loss team since they're only 12th) since BYU hasn't turned out to be as good as we thought when that game was originally played.

There's at least a nonzero chance of Ohio State and Michigan both making it if they play a tight game, so I'd prefer it if TCU also lost. I just don't like having to depend on the lesser UT.

The outside thing I fear is USC winning the Pac-12 and the committee putting them in because they're USC.

Eh, I'm okay with rewarding teams for being undefeated at this point in the season. What made no sense was why TCU was 7 behind Alabama last week.

Eh, we saw Georgia lose to Alabama last year (and it wasn't particularly close), and then they put Georgia in the playoff anyway. Even with a loss to Georgia, Tennessee's resume still smokes USC's and UCLA's. And we've seen Alabama make it without even playing in the SEC title game, so that's not an excuse either. I guess you can say "Tennessee isn't Georgia or Alabama," but still, I don't think there's any legitimate reason to believe USC or UCLA is a better team than Tennessee and they say their goal is to put in the four best teams. I mean, I guess the argument is that you want to reward teams for actually winning their conferences.

Regardless, it'll probably all resolve itself by the end. All Tennessee really needs at this point is a TCU loss.

And for LSU not to beat Georgia, I guess, because that's an entirely different can of worms.

I'm confused why people are acting like the Pac-12 champ should or would get in over Tennessee if it came down to those two for the last playoff spot. USC and UCLA aren't that good and don't have any big wins on their resume that won't include beating each other, and while we didn't look good against Georgia, we were still miles better against them than Oregon was.

They seem to be talking like the Vols have no path to a playoff spot because the Alabama win doesn't look nearly as good now, but crushing LSU on the road keeps looking better and better every week.
