I liked some of the comics, since they made fun of office and manager stupidity and all that, so it's unfortunate he turned out to be a massive racist shit bag.
We had one on our office wall of executives sitting at the back of a large boat with only a few rowers saying something like, "I don't get it, we keep laying off more rowers, yet the worker efficiency isn't increasing".
Oh well.

I only ever had Humana for dental coverage, and it was excellent. Lowest premiums and lowest out of pocket costs of all of my employer's options, at the expense of being in-network only. Had to drop them b/c my dentist ended up dropping them (rates were too low, I guess). Now I pay more...

I'm sure they also did scummy things, but I'm not sure any of the major insurers haven't by this point...

I pay my credit cards off in full each month and have almost never had a recurring debt longer than a month (once I have my house, that'll change) and my credit score has been 700+ for at least a decade now.
I legit never get these arguments. It's patently false. I've even had to talk people into paying off their credit card balances (that carry massive interest rates) that they were intentionally leaving in debt b/c they thought it "helps my credit score". And guess what? Their credit scores were just fine afterwards, too.

Yeah, cause food product providers are well known for not being cagey and inscrutable with their labeling and lists of ingredients.
People in the comments were saying they'd use the scientific names instead of "mealworm larvae", but I think they'll go one better and invent new names for the stuff that looks innocuous. Technically buried somewhere on some website it'll say what X is, so they're meeting the requirement of the law.
Also love how they take effect almost immediately. Most laws take a while to go into effect. It's amazing the government that money can buy!

Xenoblade DLC... new hero doesn't seem based off XC1 like the last one was blatantly based off of XC2 (Poppi).
And then they made Alvis a villain? But not Pythra? The anti-XC1 bias w/ XC3 is getting downright noxious at this point...
I haven't bought the DLC yet, and I'm still not sold on doing so. Which is a shame, XC3 has been such a letdown overall.

It's a good game, but the weakest Xenoblade game in the entire series in my opinion, including X. It's actually pretty similar to X in strengths (combat, exploration) and weaknesses (plot, villains, uneven music quality).

XC3 has a LOT of dialogue. Probably more scenes and talking than any game in the series, and possibly the least to actually say.
And they somehow found a way to make the tutorials even more numerous and obnoxious than in XC2.

agesboy posted...
Hell everyone's main problem was being overlevelled trivializing the game because they did most of the sidequests. For once my habit of pushing most optional content to the postgame paid off!

The problem with being overleveled is that you stop getting "experience" towards unlocking classes if the enemies are more than 4 levels below you, and while you can use nopon coins to advance class rank, there's nothing (pre-DLC, at least...maybe it added something) to help you unlock new classes other than in battle w/ similar/higher leveled enemies.
Also, enemies will aggro you if you're less than like 8 levels above them. I called it the "suck zone", where you're too high level to advance classes but not high level enough to avoid every damn thing trying to pick a fight with you. Which then leads to tons of running away, lest you get even more overleveled fighting everything. Despite my best efforts, I spent most of my playthrough in the suck zone. It damped my enjoyment a lot.

Minorities don't have access to ID in the USA?
ID's cost money. If you don't drive a car (applicable to many in cities w/ public transit, and people in poverty in general), you might have no reason to spend the money to get one.

If Republicans really cared about having ID for all voters, they'd make state ID's / driver licenses free in their states.
But they don't, because "voter ID" is just a smokescreen for trying to keep poor people from being able to vote. Poll taxes are illegal, as the courts have established repeatedly.

In a hypothetical scenario where everyone has free and accessible ID's available, requiring ID would be fine. If you balk at those conditions, your mask is slipping.

I mean, student loans are still a matter of expecting 17-year-olds to make financial decisions that will affect them for the next 10+ years
And yet...I did that when I was 17. Not going into a lot of debt was a major factor in my decision-making, THE biggest factor. It's why I chose my state school instead of a more prestigious private college, when I had the grades to get in.
Didn't give a shit what I could be making afterwards.... I knew not everyone w/ a degree actually gets a job in their major, no way in hell was I saddling myself w/ massive debt if things didn't pan out.
Also...are these mythical 17 year olds all orphans? Why aren't the parents helping guide them to a choice that isn't insanely expensive?

nor can you even necessarily expect parents to help because modern costs are not comparable to what they would have experienced 20-30 years prior (which is very likely to bias their analyses in favour of believing college is more affordable than it is).
Bull shit. College costs climbing scary fast is such an old parental concern, the "Simpsons Did It!" as a joke decades ago.

That, and the root cause of university costs being inflated to absolutely ridiculous levels needs to be addressed, since most of the problem goes away if prices are more reasonable. It's never going to be a small financial decision, but it doesn't have to be nearly as life-defining as it currently is.
Yes. I agree the cost is the problem.
You know how it got so expensive? Hordes of students thinking b/c they got a blank check for loans that they can go wherever they wanted, and choosing schools with the fanciest grounds, newest facilities, lavish amenities, etc...
You know how you fix it? Take away the money spigot.
All new loans going forward can be discharged in bankruptcy. See how long the current climate lasts when suddenly 17 year olds can't get six figure loans.

Key points to understand how awful it was:

The series uses a floating timeline, meaning it is always taking place in the current year, and Fred is perpetually six years old and in kindergarten. The videos primarily consist of the character speaking to the audience about what is happening in his life. Fred has a high-pitched voice and is hyperactive, achieved by speeding up the footage

The series received dismal reviews, particularly for Fred's annoying attitude, and grating voice, and ratings continued to slip until the show was axed, after which Cruikshank severed ties with Nickelodeon, and Fred was retired.
