The person in question already knows enough, the lady was being dangerous and belligerent to other employees out on the sales floor and when he stepped in to intervene she started acting the same way towards him too.

Its kinda wild the best defense that anyone can come up for this lady and why she shouldn't have been punched relies heavily on acting as obtuse as possible.

Threatening words can, sure, but there is nothing saying that she became threatening in some way before this happened. Wanting to bitch at a manager is not some inherently threatening behavior. She had followed him all through the store already, what leads you to believe that she was ready to attack him and this was the point where she would have physically stopped him from walking away again?

What do you think she was going to do once she finally had his back to the wall?

Following the manager into the back and refusing to leave justifies having the police called to remove her, not physical retaliation. You dont get to use fists to protect yourself from words.

You actually do get to use force to defend yourself. You don't even need to wait for the other person to inflict harm on you before you do so as long as you have a reasonable belief that the other person is going to cause you harm. And this lady gave the manager ample reason to believe that she was going to cause him harm.

She was in the middle of backing him into an area where he couldn't retreat. She had already chased him for quite a bit of distance and by the time he defended himself he had about maybe 10 more feet before he had nothing left but wall. At what distance to the wall is it reasonable to defend yourself?

Inuyasha isn't an isekai. Kagome isn't traveling to another world, she's just going to the past. If that were the case then Back to the Future would also be an isekai.

Used to be once you factored in opening and closing credits + time for commercials you'd only have a good 19 minutes of screen time. With shows like The Mandalorian being available to watch instantly whenever you wished the future sure has spoiled us.
