I can probably say that my biggest loser RELATIVELY is Altena. Considering she had a Holy Weapon, she sure did fail to kill on several occasions and also nearly died many times as well. The weight of the Gar Bolg is just too much.

Yeah, Altena is a pretty big disappointment. It's pretty sad how she's better off with a Brave Sword than with the Gae Bolg. She looks pretty good on paper, but without a way to mitigate the Gae Bolg's weight, she's underwhelming.

The only way to get money in this game is either by selling stuff or through the arena (which you still need some money to get in to first), so it's the most important part of money management.

You'll see that every character has a stat called movement or vigor with a certain number of stars next to it. Every star adds 5% to chance that they can act again that turn. It'll only activate once per turn, however.

Seliph and Ares with their legendary weapons should have enough resistance that they can't be targeted, and you can keep a staffbot out of their range with restore to wake up anyone else.

Forseti is the best weapon in the series, and it isn't close.

Arthur also needs the Pursuit Ring if you're going to go that path, but he's by far the best candidate for it so I don't hold it against him. But Forseti's speed boost plus charm and Seliph's leadership stars pair really well with Wrath, so Arthur becomes a killing machine even with the lower caps.

I thought their growth was -5, which gets negated if they stand next to each other due to the +5 bonus. And their base affection is something like 490, so they're already pretty close to being lovers.

I don't think you even need to manipulate the jealousy system if you keep them next to each other for every turn through chapter 9.

Yeah, Oifey and Shanan being able to fall in love is kinda wrong. Especially when the only adult woman is the only one who can't fall in love (Altena). Thankfully they had enough sense to not let Hannibal fall in love.

Oh yeah, what was Ced's base speed? I know the most recent hack fixes that bug, but I'm not sure if the one you're playing on does. Not that it matters much with Forseti and that speed growth.

I just had Ced handle Ishtar. Weapon triangle disadvantage against Forseti is a terrible thing to have.

Oifey is supposed to have around 20/21 defense near cap, so it sounds like you've gotten very unlucky with him.

Julia's kidnapping and everything that happens with her after that is probably the dumbest part of the story.

No, that's the combination you're supposed to get.

And don't sweat Thoron too much. There's no way to pass it down since nobody has the weapon rank to use it.

Yeah, the tome Seliph gives Julia depends on which one of the axebro's castles you conquered. If you got Johan and took Johalvier's castle, you get Aura.

Also, you picked Johalvier? Unless you let the enemy take Isaach castle, since that's the only way to get both Nosferatu and Johan.

And yeah, you're around the endgame of Thracia right now timeline-wise.

Aideen and Finn are the only two still alive, but you never see Aideen and she's basically just a backstory mother figure. There's a theory about a couple more of them from something you see in Thracia, but I'll talk more about that when you get there.

Yeah, this is what I was referring to when I said that Ayra and Larcei still aren't that great despite their good combat.

Those are all pretty standard pairings except for Ayra/Noish, so the kids will be fine.

Gae Bolg isn't even that great as far as legendary weapons go. It's better than Yewfelle, but it's probably the second worst of the legendary weapons. That weight really hurts it.

What are your pairings, out of curiosity?

Yeah, then it has to be the 300-399 level, since below 200 they don't say anything, and 500 is married.

Yeah, just for existing. If they were together for 47 turns, they should be slightly above 380. I'm not sure what "fond" is in Serenes Forest's augury translation, but it's likely what they call "likes", which checks out.

They gain +5 points for every turn they're standing next to each other, so that's how it's possible.

Claude is the best choice, other than a meme Lewyn pairing. It gives Lene major Bragi blood too, so she'll be a bit bulkier.

Yeah, weapons are attached to major blood. The kids can use the weapons of they inherit major blood and can use that weapon type. There's also a glitch to get Balmung on Ayra's kids if she marries Holyn, but that's the only way to get a legendary weapon on someone unintended.

Sylvia's pairing is basically meaningless. It's "do you want Corple to have Valkyrie access or not?" One of her better pairings is just to leave her unpaired because it's just not worth the hassle, and the replacement dancer gets a decent sword that Lene doesn't.

Yeah, only Quan can use the Gae Bolg. He can't even sell it to the pawn shop, so there's no way to keep it.
