| KamikazePotato 11/22/22 6:46:00 PM #204 | The outfits are overdone. Too much unnecessary adornment, super bright colors, etc. I prefer FE when it's more grounded. Yes, it's always been anime, but there's a difference between anime and anime. It's especially egregious when you look the old characters they're bringing back as fanservice, and all of them look way less ridiculous. Faces are harder to describe, but in general the female characters trend far more towards moeblob territory than in previous games. Bigger eyes, smaller mouths, rounder facial bone structures with less defined features, and everything is just flat-out brighter. It's simply not an art style I like or have ever liked, especially for fantasy games. And while this mostly affects the female characters, it's affected some of the male characters too. Marth looks girlier than ever, and Ike has no muscle mass. Ike! Look at how they massacred my boy. These are things I could forgive if the plot looked good, but it frankly looks awful. Just a fanfiction fest. Zero reason to be excited for that considering the series has already indulged in crossovers multiple times. --- It's Reyn Time. |

Those games are the complete packages of story, music, and gameplay. Everything else has too many demerits in certain categories. I have yet to play FE4 or FE5 though, which I suspect I'd appreciate. Still a 10/10 experience for the atmosphere though, even if it exposes how impossible it is to do memorable 1 v 1 encounters in a strategy game setting. --- It's Reyn Time. |

The main story was very extensive, and the character relationships were already established due to Path of Radiance. Also, the base Talk segments > traditional support structure, because the Talk segments can react to the ongoing plot. Other FE games definitely need them (Three Houses without supports is barely a good game) but RD not so much. --- It's Reyn Time. |
