Yellow 10/05/22 9:27:33 PM #17 | DirtBasedSoap posted... who fucking caresWell the guy now owns twitter, and is going to impact how it works, which will range from possibly unbanning most hate groups and turning it into a dumpster fire to vastly improving it by doing what jack dorsey tells him to do. He sort of influences people? Which is important? |
Topic | is Pokemon legends arceus actually good |
Yellow 10/05/22 3:06:55 PM #8 | Their constant release cycle ruined the games, imagine a pokemon game that took 6 years to develop Yeahh But whatever, there's an endless stream of 5-20 year olds to constantly sell to. |
Topic | How far are you ok with abortion? |
Yellow 10/05/22 1:53:06 PM #29 | I generally vote the most pro-choice option available and don't really think about it past that. Late term abortions are very rare and there's probably a good reason when they do happen that's not "I'm 6 months pregnant buuuut I change my mind lmao" |

Topic | North Korea launched a missile over Japan. |
Yellow 10/05/22 1:00:35 AM #16 | Basically, my understanding is that a big reason for WWII is that the world punished them for WWI and that paved the way for a strong man, whereas after WWII we focused more on rebuilding. |

Yellow 10/05/22 12:54:31 AM #15 | Kimbos_Egg posted... 1. russia was given money to build by the eu and others, especially by germany, which is why their petrol and natural gas supplies were so closely linked, as they thought if their economys were dependent on each other they'd behave. How'd that turn out?Ok, fine. Let me say something else then, because my post was lazy; Maintaining good economic ties with a regime is a bad idea, that was wrong, like you say, because it supports them. Best you can do is wait for them to collapse and let the people know that you are not the enemy they've been taught to believe. The US used shock doctrine, which was largely considered a failure, and led to the rise of a strong man like Putin. Is that better? |

Yellow 10/05/22 12:16:36 AM #9 | JigsawTDCII posted... Gene Wilder also diedSomeone told me he died in the middle of the 90s and I believed it up until last month. So I guess I'm not that sad? |

Yellow 10/04/22 11:55:49 PM #11 | Kimbos_Egg posted... because all 3 of these have worked so well in the past right?@Kimbos_Egg What do you mean by this? I said 3 things and you made a metaphor, I don't know which one you're talking about. Buying their favor is what we did with (post) Nazi Germany and that worked out great. |
Topic | North Korea launched a missile over Japan. |
Yellow 10/04/22 10:51:40 PM #9 | Let Putin's Russia collapse into a pile of ruins and invest in the welfare of the country afterward instead of screwing them over like we did last time Continue to work with China in a commercial relationship Buy off the NK government with economic relations the same way we did China, gradually encourage them to pull the stick out of their ass Don't let the US collapse into a dictatorship in the meantime The end. |
Topic | I don't understand the concept of the "multiverse". |
Yellow 10/04/22 10:11:11 PM #31 | THEGODDAMNBATMA posted... Like, if there was more than one universe, hell infinite universes, why exactly do people think there are other versions of us on them? Infinite versions? That seems a bit farfetched, even if there were infinite universes I feel like they would all be wholly original.I think the idea is that for every (quantum) 50/50 chance it actually happened in another reality, so from the moment I started typing this an infinite number of universes branched off, so there would be infinite mes finishing this sentence. |
Topic | Domestic Gross for new Mario Movie (Over/Under 150 Mil?) |
Yellow 10/04/22 10:08:03 PM #11 | VideoboysaysCube posted... On one hand, animated kid films tend to do really well, but then we have movies like Detective Pikachu that couldn't even break 150 million despite being the most profitable IP in history. Do you think Mario can rake in bigger numbers?Because they keep taking X IP and going "but what if irl with Adam Sandler no way" instead of sticking to the source. |
Topic | what did you have to eat today |
Yellow 10/04/22 10:05:38 PM #21 | adjl posted... Only if you're counting your BMR (which is a massive part of "calories out" that many people forget about, so that's not actually all that unreasonable if that is what you're doing). 2500 active calories would be the rough equivalent of 12 hours of vigorous weightlifting, and while cooking is a much more physically intensive job than many give it credit for, it's not that intense.Yeah it's incredibly hard to actually burn off calories as opposed to not eating them in the first place |

Yellow 10/04/22 10:02:53 PM #2 | I feel like that old guy moves way too slow for how powerful he's supposed to be, he's too lanky. Lanky people are like sitting ducks |
Topic | what did you have to eat today |
Yellow 10/04/22 9:52:50 PM #18 | The only things I ate today were a couple of BBQ wings and some soda. |
Topic | lol judge orders Elon buy twitter |
Yellow 10/04/22 9:47:48 PM #10 | DirtBasedSoap posted... how people care enough to get mad and emotionally invested in this is completely beyond meIf there weren't literal millions of devoted Elon Musk fans including high profile tech enthusiasts touting projects that have zero chance of happening. "Can you believe Elon Musk invented reusable rockets??" Also he's a train wreck and it's fun. Basically the guy paints the world's biggest target on his head by pretending to be the smartest guy in the country. |

Yellow 10/04/22 8:02:48 PM #7 | So now he has to sell his Tesla stocks making him culpable of fraud, or will he work out something else? From what I understand it's not illegal as a ceo to pump your stock up, but it is illegal to sell at the peak, and tesla is way overvalued. Yeah dude really screwed himself on this one. |
Topic | The Supreme Court is back Oct 3rd |
Yellow 10/04/22 2:51:28 PM #25 | Well it's clear they are interested in just being Conservative monarchs, overruling things that were incredibly popular soley because they have circumcised dicks and dragging their fanboys back to the stone ages to rationalize it If you think that's bad, wait until they strike down checks against gerrymandering. If you think Democracy is bad now. "Whoops that was unconstitutional too" |

Yellow 10/03/22 12:44:41 AM #23 | Your Google phone could know literally anything about you from the audio it hears to the way you move the gyroscopes to your search history, over the last 8 years, thrown into a billion dollar algorithm, it might be able to diagnose you with cancer before your doctor based off "the vibes you give off" Oh well. |
Topic | I think I'm the only regular Elon hater that thinks the teslabot looks pretty |
Yellow 10/01/22 3:26:19 AM #2 | I think the "removing menial tasks in factories" talking point is BS. Assembly lines already have designated robots where applicable. I already see this excelling with upper-class families and tinkerers looking for something to do the laundry. At least, next 8 years, imo |
Topic | I think I'm the only regular Elon hater that thinks the teslabot looks pretty |
Yellow 10/01/22 3:20:38 AM #1 | cool. Idk, I always thought it was kind of dumb we don't have consumer man-sized robots yet. They are just a bunch of servo motors and a computer. Also, you can't really compare this to a boston dynamics robot, since those can rip your arm off if they glitch out. Elon is a vaporware salesman, but to be fair there's already a functional prototype, which is not the usual Elon vaporware. https://twitter.com/teslaownersSV/status/1576035850625814528 |
