Yeah, once my house is paid off I'm looking to quit my job and get trained as an EMT and then work towards getting certified as a Paramedic. One, so I can help people and two, because eventually my goal is to move out of the US and medical training is sought after all through Europe.

Even if all you really care about is a tax cut, when you vote for the GOP you are saying that you view the desire for a tax cut as being of higher importance than transgender people being allowed to exist. So they at worst in favor of it and at best indifferent to it. Indifference in oppression always benefits the oppressor never the oppressed.

There are several things that genocide studies professors and experts have identified as things that hamper individuals and states attempts at genocide. All of them boil down to "consequences". Or at least fear of consequences Whether they are physical, economic, or social.

The people in power who want genocide and the extremists who carry it out rely on the consent or inaction of everyone else in society. They also work to get those people on their side by making the genocide beneficial to those people.

One of the things the Nazis did was give people who ratted out their neighbors for being gay, having Jewish descent unknown to the state, hiding Jews, or having questionable politics part of the property or money seized from those arrested. Which is what makes the civil bounty laws the GOP has been passing so chilling. It's literally right out of the Nazi playbook.

Prior to this the Nazi led state had pushed a public boycott of Jewish owned stores that had failed miserably. There wasn't a benefit for anyone who wasn't already a raging anti-semite. Once they started giving people tangible benefits for aiding in the oppression a good chunk of the populace hopped on board.

If you want to stop this kind of shit there has to be consequences for everyone involved. You have to make the perpetrators and their accomplices afraid to do it.

Like, at least in Germany there was a complete economic collapse so you could maybe understand the desperation of the populus. Here, there's nothing. Just calls for more equity. To be fair, the Nazis, at the time when there were still elections, never achieved more than 37% of the vote. They only came to power through parliamentary fuckery. They formed a coalition with traditional German conservatives who would preferred the Nazis over social democrats and thought that they could control the Nazis. The Nazis outplayed them and destroyed them, then did away with elections because all of the mechanisms of governance required everyone to be acting in good faith and the Nazis weren't.

All of these conservatives in the US who are willing to back the fascists in the GOP because they want power over their enemies are no different than the conservatives in Weimar. At the end of the day they'll get the same treatment as well.

The "crime" aspect is as related to UN Article 2. It is referring to the act of genocide itself as a crime. Your reading comprehension is for shit.

Doesn't mean they weren't abhorrent and criminal. That's why we had the Nuremberg trials, at which too many people were allowed to escape the noose.

The state doesn't get to determine who is a human being and who isn't, and any government that attempts to do so deserves to be torn down and the people propping it up, well they deserve the same thing that people got at Nuremberg for doing the same kind of shit.
