This topic reminded me to play Supraland, which over the past week I have now beaten with 1000g on XSX. Cool little game. It feels janky most of the way through, but the application of metroidvania-style level design and traversal progression is actually very good, and most of the puzzles were just difficult enough to be interesting without getting me stuck.

There's a billion different laws because things like religion have convinced people they can pick and choose on human rights. There is nothing logical about nuanced abortion laws. Many of them are not based in science (banning abortion before most women could tell) or based on lies (late-term abortions, widespread abortion as birth control, etc).

They are not rational laws and don't improve the world in any tangible way. As always, tolerance and freedom are the logical and efficient solutions.
There are definitely thresholds that can be used based on medical realities.
e.g. abortions before 23 weeks being unrestricted access, but having stricter criteria beyond that, since 23 weeks is typically the minimum viable age for a preterm newborn to survive in the NICU - albeit usually with serious developmental problems.
23 weeks is kind of a moot point since most hospitals lack the expertise to perform a termination of that gestation, and I've basically never heard of one happening in my country beyond ~20 weeks. Most are like 8-14 weeks.

Religion has done a lot of harm in this country alone. It gets weaponized into a tool to control people by corrupt governments, and it's a big reason we have some of the shittiest politicians in the developed world, which ends up hurting people through exploitative healthcare, justice system, education, etc.
but I feel like if we got rid of it people would just replace it with their political identities or something, we've seem countless people turn MAGA into their religion already. At least with religion it does help some people turn their lives around and gives them an avenue to do good things. I'll just vote for cancer
Yeah I don't think removal of religion is the magic solution that so many ITT seem to think it is.

In addition, a lot of people around the world gain a lot of positive life experiences from religion, which can't really be said for the others on this list.

Cancer and depression are my #1 and 2. I chose cancer because of how much immediate, and potential long term health gain it brings. It would probably instantly bump life expectancy by 10 years or more in developed nations, and it would take a massive burden off the healthcare system.

Seems like a dumb policy change. It may delay things for some offenders, but these people are driven by rage or hate and will just save up more money eventually.

I agree that these types of firearms are the ones to focus on if your concern is mass shootings, but I don't think this will do anything other than being something else the rep can put on their voting record as "See! I care about gun violence!"

I don't like the idea that they can put out a disaster then ice over it and somehow turn that into good press.
Like the quote should now read 'A delayed game is eventually good, a bad game takes your money, laughs in your face then eventually you stop caring and start clapping along.'
I've seen a few trying it for Fallout 76 and traces of it happening for Cyberpunk. Please release the game when it's functional.
Yeah, so you don't buy the bad game (to punish the crappy release) and then when it is good you can buy it (to reward the effort)
If you refuse to buy games that have improved, you're basically saying that if a messy game is released the devs should let it remain bad forever.

Ive met more than a few doctors that think its just in my head or linked to stress
"Just in your head" is a pretty non-charitable description imo. It's very possible to get somatic symptoms from a psychological origin, and that doesn't make it any less "real." This is the same kind of group of problems I was hinting towards. It is usually a long process to figure out what else might be involved, and often there is no formal diagnosis that fits at all. But sometimes fixing another problem can help with this one.

Medically unexplained symptoms like yours can sometimes be pinned down to a specific organic cause if the right person thinks of the right set of investigations to do, but sometimes they can't. If not, some people find success approaching in a different way: treating it as a "bodily distress syndrome" and getting linked in with a psychologist and/or psychiatrist. Denmark in particular has a good body of research on this.

Allergies and autoimmune disorders would be considered in the very first visit with a gastroenterologist for those kinds of symptome. No way have they not been considered.

There's a lot of unknown/indistinct stuff that can cause unexplained GI symptoms or abdo pain like that though. Some rare intestinal motility disorders, and it's also pretty common to get them as part of a pain syndrome or functional neurological disorder.
