Guys I'm stuck. I'm only on my fourth guess for today's Wordle, but with the letters I have I can't seem to make a sensible word.





I've been looking at this for ten minutes and I've still got nothing...

I think quite a few got stuck for a while with that same combo of letters. Took me about 5 mins myself before I worked it out (in 4).

I'm around a day ahead of most here. #482 is easier, I got it in 4 due to getting a 50/50 wrong. Pretty standard stuff.

Knew that one was unlikely, and was not at all confident. Oh well.

I will say that all of the home upsets to get up so far I didn't think would win, so wouldn't have picked those if I changed anyway. Cardinals were the only other home upset I was even considering.

I had fun trying something different at least.

No one made it to Level 3

Damn. I decided to give this comp a miss this year, as I quite often get stuck on Level 2 for weeks. Should have just used my Suicide picks here as well, I've tipped upsets both rounds so far (Bears Rd 1, Jags Rd 2).

Because you had to look up those spreads for nothing, I'll do a fun pick with them and stick to my outsiders strategy from Suicide and say I would have picked the Jets (+4.5) and Titans (+2.5) this week. I am not entering the comp, it's not fair to do so, and I don't really expect to get these right anyway (I had to use bonus points to get through Level 3 last year from memory).

Good luck everyone. Dallas and Atlanta seem the popular level 2 picks so far, which seem reasonable chances, but I have been sticking solely to home teams which is why I went for the Jets in Suicide, and had to back it up here. Not overly confident, but I don't like any of the home underdogs with any level of confidence this week. Jets have won 4 of 5 matches this year (including pre-season) and also beat the Bengals (1 of 5 this season) last year, so thought I'd give them some chance - I'd still probably tip the Bengals in Pickem if I was doing that.

Thanks. It does feel a bit weird outlasting around 3/4 of the people in this based on my picks so far, I seriously doubt I win this overall, even with only 20 left. I'll keep going with the current strategy though, as it seems trying to pick the favourites hasn't worked for a lot of people.

I didn't expect a shut out, just happy to progress. Thanks, and glad I helped a few of you in Pickem, saw a few Jags picks there.

Jaguars

Sticking to my strategy from last round - picking an underdog playing at home who I think is some chance of a win (there's not many to pick from). Worked last round, but doubt it continues to for long enough to win this comp.

I did think it was a possibility the Bears won, and figured it was the best upset pick, but it turned out there were a few decent upsets this week. Still got a bit lucky.

I also just looked back at all of the successful Bears picks in recent seasons:

2021-22 v Lions (1 pick)
2020-21 v Giants (2 picks)
2019-20 v Redskins (1 pick)

That was it. Doesn't seem to be many willing to risk picking them, probably fair enough.

I'll probably forget about this within a week or two, so may as well just pick random upset picks and get eliminated that way instead (likely this week).

Got 319 in 3, annoyingly it's a word I have used to start a few times lately, but didn't today.

Closest I have been to a 2 so far, should have tried the actual answer instead with my second guess, just wanted to nail down where the yellow letter from my first guess was by including it twice - it was only in the word once.
