I remember a youtuber by the name of Mutahar suggested the absurdly high P2W was to exploit early access whales who don't care about the controversy. Then later, Blizzard will play the hero and say that they've heard their customers' complaints and reduced the prices. Sort of a have their cake and eat it to.

Matahar has been playing Blizz games for a good while then. It's literally their MO with WoW.

Okay so I'm definitely one of those that dislike it when shows get uncharacteristically political and all, but wtf at that being a complaint for THIS show?

This show, from day one, was a social commentary, so unlike a random BLM scene from Falcon and the Winter Soldier, the show's premise is entirely on touching on modern day politics and does a phenomenal job of portraying that. Disney, take notes. This show is awesome.

When I came into this, I honestly did think this way. I was like "Two shitty people are gonna kill their reps". Post-trial, I sympathized with Depp. Dude's got issues, but he never really hurt anyone but himself through drug abuse, etc. And even that was severely overblown.

Because there is no cap on defamation (that I know of). Punitive is different. This was the 5 million that was stated after the 10 million for defamation. It's like punishment money.

Technically pay ~8 million since 350k is the cap on punitive, but yes.

I'm thinking more likely hung jury. If that counts as Amber's favor given how lacking their case has been, then sure. Amber isn't winning a dime.

Depp already won though. He's pretty much cleared on abuse claims and the world is on his side. The court of public opinion matters more in this case.

Company ethics have truly questioned my previous negative sentiment towards piracy.

Whitney Heard witnessed Amber striking Depp, not the other way around. Both claimed it was due to Amber looking to protect Whitney. The closest situation to Depp hurting Amber was the door incident, where he slammed it on her face, but through the recordings, it was because he was looking to get away from her in the bathroom.

They're both liars and abusers, the court case is basically "which one do you like more tho" and fuck that lol

The biggest reason to not trust those articles you noted is because most of them fall under Rupert Murdoch's News Corp. umbrella, which also happens to own the Sun, which was sued for defamation by Depp. This trial hurts major publication credibility as most of them covered false information provided by leaks by Amber Heard's PR team. Thus, these publications have strong incentive to skew information to influence public perception against Johnny Depp.

Watching the trial is by far the best way to get more accurate representation of what happened. Sorry you don't want to put yourself through it, but otherwise, you'll just present an uninformed opinion.

This is such a simplistic take.

The cultural impact of this hurts women. This is why many, including many women, hate Amber. She lied and took advantage of a movement that was rightfully shining a light on abusers. This whole debacle deals a crippling blow to said movements.

Depp's behavior hasn't been a negative for women. Damage caused to all these movements looking to help women that were unfortunately victims of abuse were all caused by Amber Heard taking advantage of said movements. It's actually my sympathy for women instead that makes me more angry at Heard for her actions

I believe you're recounting this wrong. Amber's the only one to accuse Depp of abuse. Heard was accused of abusing her ex-girlfriend Tasya.

It has been consistent that Depp has drug problems, anger issues, jealousy, etc. but violence against women, Amber or otherwise, was definitely not one thing that has landed. He's done far more harm to himself than others.

I feel those are justifications they give themselves AFTER they already made the decision to not have kids. It's likely most people do it because they don't want the responsibility, which insecurity will lead them to believe that people will view them as irresponsible, thus the responsible reasoning they give others

I don't imagine a short man's mental health does too well either. For the lack of a better phrase, society does look down on them and they're less likely to do well in many walks of life due to this. This lady, she'll get more support than she'll ever need through her followers. Those men, who live this day to day life? They're alone and dealing with this day to day.

I don't mean to pick on you as it's a common problem I see. I remember, not long ago, a car accident in Las Vegas involving a famous sports player, drunk and speeding, that killed a young woman and her dog, burning to death. Twitter the next few days was filled with people feeling sorry for the man, feeling that he must be going through much pain. Very few noted how the lady's family must feel. Money and fame...
