That's really quite stupid

When red onions were named, there was no such thing as the word "purple" in the English language. It was considered red. In fact, red also included pink, orange, and some shades of brown.

If you wanted to refer to the shade of red that coincided with purple, you would have to compare it (ie "red like an onion" or "red like wine").

You know what they should do?

Make a new version of "Song of the South".

Change the surrounding story, reanimate the B'rer rabbit parts with new voice actors. Keep it during sharecropping, after the Civil War, but take the white family out of it. Uncle Remus is still a former slave, but he's literally an Uncle living with his own family. He's telling his grandniece and nephews the stories as passed from his own grandfather while dealing with the hardships of sharecropping and racism. Make the antagonists in the story like the white sharecropper boss also be the voices of the animal antagonists in the animated portions.

Cake decorating is horrifyingly wasteful. It's why I hate having people watch me do it because they'll nag about it even though this was how their wedding cake was made in the professional bakery.

Before the quark was discovered, protons, neutrons, and electrons were thought to be the smallest particles that everything was made of. Now there is some evidence that quarks might not be the smallest particle and is actually made up of even smaller particles.

There is already a theoretical particle that quarks are made of called the "preon":

Reminds me when Seleucid King Antiochus Epiphanes ordered the Jews to worship Zeus. The Israelite High Priest at the time was a Hellenized Jew with a Greek name who tried to smooth the command over with the populace. He placed a statue of Zeus in the Holy of Holies and insisted that Zeus was in reality Yahweh, so it shouldn't be a problem to worship Yahweh under that name.

We know how that went.

I know that the Romans conflated Odin with Mercury. At that time, the Germanic people didn't place Odin at the head of the Norse pantheon. That position belonged to Tyr (Tiwaz), the god of war. Odin was more of an old wise man and sometime benevolent trickster, which is what Mercury was to the Romans.

Should be noted that Tolkien based Gandalf the Grey off this older version of Odin in both appearance and personality.

That is actually unfortunate if true. Cause I think the story is better and actually makes Jesus look better if she was indeed a prostitute. I always thought the point was that Jesus didn't look down on anyone

True, this is one of those cases where the spin-off is better than the original story. It makes Jesus look way more progressive.

There are plenty of apocrypha gospels written by non Jews who bring their sensibilities into it. Sexual relationships between two men where one is the subordinate are common in Roman culture. As a result there are apocrypha gospels where Jesus has a sexual relationship with his nameless male disciple that is only known as "The Beloved Disciple."

The Church went to great lengths to destroy them all during the 4th century as heretical text. However, they've been found as wrappings or grave goods for Christian Egyptian mummies from the 2nd century.

That's an early Roman Catholic slander to discredit Mary Magdalene since she used to have an incredibly high position in the early Church for a woman. The Orthodox and Eastern Church doesn't recognize that she was ever a prostitute.

Really old versions of the New Testament from the 2nd century say that she was the sister of Lazarus, and that she started following Jesus because he raised her brother from the dead. Later versions changed it so that her name was stricken from Lazarus's story.

On the one hand in any infinite system

It must be a closed system with maximum entropy. If another system acts on it, it would introduce work to the system which would lower entropy and start everything back to square one. Thermal equilibrium is needed for Poincare's Theorum.

Our universe is a closed system because we have a cosmological horizon due to our universe expanding faster than the speed of lighjt. Anything outside the horizon cannot interact with anything inside it. Eventually, our universe will suffer heat death according to our current models where the universe is in thermal equilibrium. And it would continue on forever unless something interrupts it like vaccuum collapse.

Cosmologists noticed that our theorized future universe would resemble the type of environment that Poincare's Theorum might occur.

There's a concept in classical statistical physics called Poincare's Theorum.

Think of the universe as an analog TV that is turned to nothing but TV snow (random static). The smallest physical measure would be a pixel. The smallest measure of time would be how long the pattern of snow on the monitor would change. The only thing guiding this is the rules of how a TV works (the chord has to be plugged in, nothing can be broadcast on it, etc.)

Poincare's Theorum would state that if you wait long enough, the randomly TV snow would change in a period of time in such a way that every TV show ever made would be broadcast. Now apply this to the universe.

The TV snow is vacuum energy and the constant crackling quantum foam of virtual particles, some of which become real particles. The universe is finite like the TV screen, but it will possibly have an infinite future. That means given enough time, every configuration of the universe will be realized and in every order possible that the law of physics will allow.

It is absolutely inevitable that not only will every version of the universe eventually exist, it will also repeat an infinite number of times. The only thing limiting it is if the law of physics allow it.

BTW the number of states possible in the observable universe if expansion was temporarily frozen has been calculated to approximately:
logBASE2 (e)10^123 bits.

The only reason I felt it worked in the comics was because all the heroes had been out of commission for over a year. They'd probably set it during the five years the snap took place when the Avengers were not there.

Also, I think they should use already established popular villains in the MCU for the team. Make the marketing seem like it's this new team against these popular villains who band together. Then in the movie immediately reveal that the team and the villains are one in the same. Have the climax being the team split and dissolve as one side who wants to do the right thing fights against the side who wants to keep being evil and go through with the plan.
