Floods are common in California after a drought. Everything dries up, then catches fire. There's no plants to hold the soil, and dry ground doesn't absorb water as fast, so it turns into floods and mudslides.

Plus with warmer winters the precipitation that would normally fall as snow in the mountains and melt slowly throughout the summer instead falls as rain and it all flows downstream at once.

I didn't get mine last year until November. Of course, I had to file a 1040-X (amended return) because I mailed my return just days before they changed the rule about unemployment pay being taxable. Because it took so long the IRS paid interest on the refund.

I had to pay taxes on that interest this year.

I would rather shovel horse poo in the barn than wash the dishes. I finally bought a countertop dishwasher which has been a lifesaver.

$950,000,000 would only buy about 38 million 8-piece chicken meals, assuming $25 each. That's not going to make a very big dent in world hunger at all, and it's not even that many chickens (Costco sells 100 million rotisserie chickens every year).

My fallback meal is canned chili with cheese and tortilla chips.

If I'm tired, sick, depressed, or just can't deal with cooking or trying to figure out what to eat, I open a can of chili. Plop it into a bowl, sprinkle some cheese on top, and toss it in the microwave. Takes less than 5 minutes and only dirties up one bowl and one spoon.

If you're not using one of these, are you even clean?

I just shave everything off.

Shaving is easier if you take a bath. Soak yourself in the hottest water you can stand and it'll soften up the hair making it much easier to shave. It's also easier to get to stuff if you're sitting down than trying to balance standing up.

Literally any cookie would be good as an ice cream. If you think oatmeal raisin wouldnt be a good ice cream youre not imagining hard enough. And I dont even like raisins.

Actually, there are some other kinds of cookies that would make good ice cream. Chocolate chip, snickerdoodles, Thin Mints, Samoas/Caramel Delights, just to name a few.

They never say what kind of cookies are in cookies & cream.

A lot of the old mystery shows were really good. Try Banacek if you have the chance. He's a freelance insurance investigator who locates high-value items that have disappeared under mysterious circumstances, like a computer that takes up a whole room and is surrounded by an electric fence just vanishing overnight.

Very little actual spam, as in totally unsolicited junk email, but I get lots of emails from Indian recruiters who've never actually looked at my resume, crap from my insurance company, political junk I got signed up for because I was a delegate to the state Democratic Convention several years ago, tons of garbage from LinkedIn, and useless emails from Sam's Club.

You get the components that you want, you can pick higher quality components, and everything is standard so there are no surprises later on when you need to upgrade or repair. It will generally cost less for high end components.

Down side is no real warranty, you can totally wreck expensive parts if you don't know what you're doing, there's no guarantee all the parts will work together property, and it's time consuming to do the assembly. A big manufacturer may have access to cheaper low end components than you.
