Nintendo should follow the Sony and MS model w/ their new console and add a $10 tax to the same game just for being on a new console.

$60 on PS4, $70 on PS5 Absolutely crazy

It's a snarky, deliberate underestimation based on how Twilight Princess released on GC and the Wii... and proceeded to be hard to find on the GC version shortly afterward. Or the time BotW came out on Wii U and Switch, and the Wii U version didn't last very long, and became difficult, for those of us wanting to not have to buy a new system to play the long-awaited game.
I waited for years on TP b/c I didn't have a Wii yet and figured it'd be better on the new console. Then when I finally got a Wii, I looked up about the game and saw universal derision for the Wii version and the GC version was better. So I ended up getting it on GC anyway. Didn't have a problem finding it.

Wish I had learned my lessons from that. Instead, I forgot how bad motion controls were and pre-ordered Skyward Sword (aka, the reason I'll never pre-order a Zelda game again). Then I bought into the fear-mongering that the Wii U version of BotW would be impossible to find soon, and panic bought it 2 weeks after it came out instead of waiting for a sale/used. I bet I could've waited.

Yep, called it in another thread

Nintendo want us to be content with the Mario Kart 8 update, Kirby and Splatoon 3 for the rest of the year

Meanwhile they're hard at work on Mario Kart 9, MP4 and BotW2 for the next console or updated Switch

I just hope they bring it in terms of hardware
We've got Bayonetta 3 and Xenoblade 3 this year

2022 is solid

And yeah, ideally the next console is at least PS4 level in power. Switch can remain as the low power handheld option if they want games to play on both consoles.

I knew it wouldn't be out yet.

If Nintendo were smart, they'd wait till the new console is out and launch it w/ BotW 2, so they can instantly catch up on the PS5 and Series S/X for this gen in sales. Which hopefully is next year. Switch has had a long enough run.

... It's an auto-immune disease that redirects the immune system, which should be protecting the body against infectious agents, to waste its time damaging the body's own cells and is by definition a disability. It can also damage your nails and cause pain, something a lot of auto-immune diseases do, and correlates to other conditions.

A disability is a physical impairment that substantially limits a major life activity. This includes the functions of the immune system and "normal cell growth. Also a physiological disorder or condition, cosmetic disfigurement, or anatomical loss affecting one or more body systems (language in 29 CFR 1630.2(h)(1))

https://adata.org/faq/what-definition-disability-under-ada

It is important to remember that in the context of the ADA, disability is a legal term rather than a medical one. Because it has a legal definition, the ADAs definition of disability is different from how disability is defined under some other laws, such as for Social Security Disability related benefits.
The ADA defines a person with a disability as a person who has a physical or mental impairment that substantially limits one or more major life activity. This includes people who have a record of such an impairment, even if they do not currently have a disability. It also includes individuals who do not have a disability but are regarded as having a disability. The ADA also makes it unlawful to discriminate against a person based on that persons association with a person with a disability.

https://www.law.cornell.edu/cfr/text/20/404.1505

404.1505 Basic definition of disability.
(a) The law defines disability as the inability to do any substantial gainful activity by reason of any medically determinable physical or mental impairment which can be expected to result in death or which has lasted or can be expected to last for a continuous period of not less than 12 months. To meet this definition, you must have a severe impairment(s) that makes you unable to do your past relevant work (see 404.1560(b)) or any other substantial gainful work that exists in the national economy. If your severe impairment(s) does not meet or medically equal a listing in appendix 1, we will assess your residual functional capacity as provided in 404.1520(e) and 404.1545. (See 404.1520(g)(2) and 404.1562 for an exception to this rule.) We will use this residual functional capacity assessment to determine if you can do your past relevant work. If we find that you cannot do your past relevant work, we will use the same residual functional capacity assessment and your vocational factors of age, education, and work experience to determine if you can do other work. (See 404.1520(h) for an exception to this rule.) We will use this definition of disability if you are applying for a period of disability, or disability insurance benefits as a disabled worker, or child's insurance benefits based on disability before age 22 or, with respect to disability benefits payable for months after December 1990, as a widow, widower, or surviving divorced spouse.

https://www.cdc.gov/ncbddd/disabilityandhealth/disability.html

Pretty lengthy, but I assume you're going for "impairment" since the other categories are even more severe and clearly out of scope, so...

What is impairment?
Impairment is an absence of or significant difference in a persons body structure or function or mental functioning. For example, problems in the structure of the brain can result in difficulty with mental functions, or problems with the structure of the eyes or ears can result in difficulty with the functions of vision or hearing.
Structural impairments are significant problems with an internal or external component of the body. Examples of these include a type of nerve damage that can result in multiple sclerosisexternal icon, or a complete loss of a body component, as when a limb has been amputated.
Functional impairments include the complete or partial loss of function of a body part. Examples of these include pain that doesnt go away or joints that no longer move easily.

Can't believe I'm actually arguing w/ someone that baldness isn't a disability...

But I will be blunt. When someone tells you that a condition is a disability and your reaction is, "LOL NO IT ISN'T. I DON'T THINK IT'S BAD ENOUGH TO BE ONE," you need to fuck right off. People with disabilities should not have to spend half of their time trying to get people to believe they are "REALLY" disabled.

Not excusing Wills behaviour at all but the amount of people minimising hair loss is kind of unbelievable. The emotional distress that hair loss causes is real. Oftentimes if you have alopecia, the last thing you want is for someone to bring it up, let alone joke about it, let alone on national tv.
Oh for god sakes...
It's just hair loss! Millions of men suffer from it and "baldy" jokes have always been a thing.
Comedians have routinely made fun of far worse shit and no one cared.

Believe it or not, it can be even more distressing for women because its not as common for women to lose their hair.
Jada has videos where she says she shaved it all off and won't wear a wig b/c she's not ashamed of it. Apparently she likes collecting the internet brownie points for being "stunning and brave" but does actually care, a lot.
And you could say that about any health/body issue less common for a gender/race/whatever.
Men are usually taller than women. So it must be especially hurtful to make fun of a short dude for being short, I guess that needs to stop, too?

You can all clown on Will as much as you want but the its just hair loss attitude is wrong. His behaviour was inexcusable but the joke was insensitive especially considering this isnt the first time Chris has referenced Jadas hair loss.
When else has he referenced it?
And supposedly all the jokes are planned ahead and rehearsed. Will didn't have a problem with it. Until Jada did. Then he had to do something so she wouldn't be mad at him.
Their whole family is fucking toxic. Their son was on twitter right after bragging, "that's how we do it!" Will was happily dancing at the after party, like nothing happened before.
And Jada is the worst of them all, constantly belittling and humilating Will on top of the cheating, and supposedly August was suffering from mental health issues (you know, the thing people claim she's suffering over fucking hair loss) and was staying w/ the Smiths for help or something, which makes her hooking up w/ a guy her son's age even more fucking creepy.

Why would Will Smith agree to let Chris Rock make a joke about his wife, which was insensitive given her condition, and then give up any good will he'd get for winning an Oscar to forever be remembered for striking someone on live tv over said joke. And then awkwardly shouting and swearing while, again, on live tv.
Plus they muted it for like 20 seconds, not just the F-bombs. They had no idea what was going on

Seems like a pretty big hit to his image for a fun little skit. He's a mostly family friendly dude now (with that stupid Rewind and Aladdin) so having footage of him getting violent is real stupid.
He's ALWAYS had the family friendly image. Eminem was rapping about it like 20 years ago. Makes literally zero sense for him to do this intentionally / planned.

And honestly if it's staged it's so much worse for his image. Not only did he think he'd come across ok by lashing out like a child, but he agreed to a joke at his wife's expense. And even if she was cool with it, it means they all agreed that it'd be good fun making alopecia (something she's shared as being a pretty big deal for her) the butt of a joke.
Yup. Plus the odd line he draws with what counts as "disrespecting my family" and what doesn't that this elicits also does him no favors.

On topic: You guys do know his wife has Alopecia or something like that where it affects your hair, right? The joke was in bad taste because of it.
People can't help if they're short, but short jokes are a thing.
Ted Cruz isn't physically ugly by choice (emotionally ugly is by choice, though), but people are still gonna laugh about his hideous face.
Trump is fat and people made fun of that constantly.
Just b/c a joke's in bad taste doesn't give someone the right to get violent about it.
It'd be one thing if it was a veiled threat, or making fun of someone dying. But it was just her appearance. Get over it.

Under normal circumstances that still doesnt warrant a slap BUT lets examine Will Smiths life in recent years. Hes provided for his family and loved them. Arguably hes loved his fans, too. He gets betrayed by the person who is supposed to be his most trusted, and does the world show him support during this traumatic time? Nope! They bash the shit out of him. Cause if a woman cheats its, You go, girl. But if a guy cheats, Hes a scumbag dog. His fans and the world betrayed him as well. Hes been the butt of many jokes. Its even evident in this thread.
I agree the double standard where cheating by either party is always somehow the man's fault is bs.
But we laugh at him b/c he chooses to stay. Dude could've had any wife he wanted, or been a bachelor and slept w/ thousands, if he wanted. Instead, he not only chooses her, but stands by her as she cheats on him. It's pathetic, and he brings the mean jokes on himself for not standing up for himself.

Anyway, considering female nature perhaps she cheated because she didnt feel he was protective enough. Idk, just speculating. But it is one of the many reasons women give for cheating, the man falls short somehow. Cause they can never say, I just wanted new dick! But anyway, if that was one of the reasons she gave for her betrayal any attack on her, even a joke, would prompt a trigger-like response within him. With the immense pain he felt due to the betrayal as an uncontrollable force to do something about it. So as to avoid feeling that pain again. This is simple psychology. @adjl Back me up over here.
No. It's one of the rare instances of actual toxic masculinity. Violently lashing out at an innocent 3rd party b/c you can't handle your personal issues like an adult. And I see tons of women who probably love that "TM" term defending this shit, saying he was "defending her honor", lol

TL;DR: Will Smith is getting some tonight.
Really odd to see the red pill gimmick account of all people defending this.

Apparently I'm on youtube's "naughty list". It's odd because I never swear/cuss in the comments or post anything inflammatory, but I think it started back around the time of the Sony censorship, when I posted a comment complaining about it on one of their videos. That was the first time I ever noticed the "shadow ban", had to re-enter my comment multiple times and change it to "sense of ship" among other things and then it finally posted. Ever since then, the list of words I'm not allowed to use seemingly grows every passing month.

Here are a few words off the top of my head that have gotten my posts removed:

Censorship
Website
Link (for example, "there's a link for that on the top of X page")
Reddit (just naming the website)
Video
Fraud
Vanishing (replied to myself about how my comments kept vanishing and had to change it to "poofed")
Edits (or other forms like editing, etc...)
Shot (no matter the context, like "give it a shot" or "I got the booster shot")

Yeah, I'm a real monster... Every time it's the same deal. It'll pretend my comment posted and sometimes on my end still show even hours later. But if I go to a private/incognito tab and check the comments, it's not there. Or it's there at first but then when I reload newest comments first (choose top comments, then back to new) it's gone after 20 seconds or a minute. If I try to edit a shadow banned comment, it'll give a "Return Error" and then vanish even from my logged in perspective.

The fact they don't even tell you the comment's being deleted and deceive you into thinking it actually posted is honestly even more annoying than the insane amount of banned words that they keep adding to the algorithm and refuse to provide publicly let alone enforce evenly/universally. Joke what you will about how awful youtube comments are, but sometimes I put a lot of time and effort into a comment trying to give advice or identify a song/game/whatever and provide recommendations because someone liked it or answer a question, and then it just gets disappeared. So now I spend tons of time constantly copying and pasting any important comment, tweaking words I suspect might be the problem (as you can see from the above, it's not at all intuitive!), and checking on a private tab until I'm sure it actually stays.

I'm far from the only one with this problem:

But do they want MORE money? Cause I only purchased the original Xenoblade Chronicles but not the remaster or sequel.
As someone who owns the pre-order copies of both Xenoblade 1 games (Wii and Switch; sorry, New 3DS, I'm not buying a 2nd 3DS just for one game), there were a lot of graphical improvements and quality of life additions plus an epilogue added. A Xenoblade X port to Switch will have far less additions/changes than that. If you were unwilling to re-buy Xenoblade 1 again, why would they expect you to re-buy X?

And I have no plans on buying part 3.
Your loss.

And I dont even play as Shulk in super smash.
Heresy!

So...you do own it already.
So MS did get your money. :p

You're so serious about giving Monolith Soft money that you never bought a Wii U to play their game.

I got a Wii U specifically because of Xenoblade X and Bayonetta 2. While I'd love for X to be ported to Switch (but I'm leery the online stuff will now require paying money to access...), if you really gave a damn about X, you wouldn't be here whining 7 years later about it.

a few were trafficking kids, the judge and the others were buying hookers. Which i have no idea why is even illegal but whatever
The religious far right and feminist far left have been trying to frame any form of sex work as "trafficking", and sadly between news outlets promoting the bull shit and laws like FOSTA/SESTA, they're succeeding.
I agree, prostitution should be legal or decriminalized. But unfortunately the fringe crazies have total control over our government and mainstream media.

A good case to remember the next time police conduct a no-knock raid at 3 am and the home owner thinks s/he's being attacked by criminals and opens fire, when trolls try to blame him/her for the ensuing hail of gunfire by the police in return.
Bonus points if it's one of the many instances of SWAT having the wrong address, so the homeowners literally had 0.00% reason to ever think this could be happening to them!

The suddenly awakened civilian in darkness is supposed to be able to decipher in an instant whether the people breaking down their door are good or bad.
But a cop w/ many hours of training and experience in broad daylight can mistake any number or items for a gun or any number of slight motions as an attempt to reach for a (nonexistent) gun and open fire, and get considered justified nearly every time.

Thank you for attending my TED talk.

I'm very happy. Most people don't understand what they're saying when they say "end DST!" and actually want sun later in the day. Glad the Senate did the right thing this time.
Sun in the morning beaming into my half-awake eyes sucks. Pitch dark in the evening when I finally have free time sucks, too.

Zazabar posted...
Should be permanent for Standard time. Does this have to pass through the Senate and Pres first?
It passed the Senate, 100-0, which is frankly insane. House is controlled by Dems, so it should be easy to pass, and Biden's not gonna bother opposing a veto-proof super majority, even if he doesn't like it.
It becoming law is just a formality at this point.
Unfortunately, we still have to revert to Inferior Time this November, b/c the bill doesn't take effect until Nov 2023.

I don't get it, either

Meanwhile, South Korea isn't only still pissed about WW2, they still are mad about...

Yeah, that. Literally over 400 years ago, and not particularly noteworthy as far as invasions or warfare go. Japan lost pretty handily both times.

...Is Japan still mad at Korea and China for the Yuan Dynasty's invasions?

Holy crap, I can't believe those people make less than half of what I make. I wonder what the industry standard pay is.
Yeah, the people who actually make the games get paid absolute crap.
The VA strikes kinda piss me off b/c the VA's already make way more than the employees actually writing the code and QA testing while being no where near as important for a game's success as the game play / lack of glitches/problems, and then have gall to demand more. If they fought for the low level grunts working painful crunch hours to get raises, I'd respect said movements more.

I try to avoid buying from the worst companies, but it's hard to tell sometimes if a company is "good" or we just haven't heard anything yet about how they also abuse their employees, too.

And the defenders had 20 tanks but took out nearly all of their 200 before they lost. The winter war was a phyrric victory for Russia at best.
It's amazing how many parallels there are.
Both involved false flags to initiate a bs reason to invade.
Stalin purged the army of non-loyalists, leading to the incompetence shown. Just like Putin letting funds for maintenance go to his cronies and leading to it all failing in the field.
Winter War also had Russian vehicles and troops limited to the roads w/ little capability to maneuver off of them, creating bottlenecks and making them sitting ducks.
And...the way it appears to be going w/ Ukraine... both will end w/ Russia gaining a small amount of territory at great cost.
Finland also used propaganda to appear like they were kicking even more ass than they were, to keep morale up (like the "Ghost of Kyiv, and such)

Winter War also is what led hitler to think Russia was a push over he could easily conquer and thus he invaded. Which is reminiscent of all the talk I see from people now thinking Russia would be crushed in a war w/ us (aside from the nukes), and thinking they'll never recover from the equipment losses and economic sanctions, etc... Which ignores that a large part of the failure is due to the war being very unpopular and lots of troops not cooperating, along with supply line issues that wouldn't exist if fighting on their own turf and actually motivated.

I mean the majority of Russia's military victories were as defenders, retreating to their godforsaken frozen wasteland and letting "general winter" do the heavy lifting. They're the away team this time. On the cusp of spring. I don't think I need to spell out the difference here.
We already had an example of Russia being the invaders in winter. Literally called the Winter War. When some 5 ft tall farmer with an old ass sniper rifle no-scoped Russians by the hundreds.
