Also, the book is only part 1 of a larger story. The short version of it is that the world knows of a legendary man that has done countless feats. They tell of his tales but are constantly exaggerated and/or inaccurate. This famous legend disappeared in the world and settled as a innkeeper. No one outside of a small handful knows who he really is. A historian finds him to document his story and the innkeeper agrees. The book is mostly about part of his story that is actually accurate by the his own account. That is an incredibly abridged version that not only doesnt really scratch the surface but also is probably a poor abridged version from me. There is so much in the book and I dont want to be here all morning typing out a proper summary. | DepreceV2 06/27/22 4:47:27 AM #1 | 80/80 I work 7 on 7 off 12 hour shifts and I asked for book recommendations to listen too. This was recommended a few times so I tried it. Ill be honest, I hard a hard time getting into it for the first 5-10 chapters but then it hooked me. I bet if I re-listen to those early chapters I would find them much more enjoyable because of what I know now. It was fantastic. Long too. 28 hours. Im already getting ready to listen to the sequel The Wise Mans Fear. This monster is 43 hours long. Thats the length of 129 episodes of your typical 20 minute show combined. I look forward too it. Ill ask for more recommendations whenever I finish this. I immediately said it's what he deserved because... yea. You don't mess with minors. Period. However, apparently the girl lied about her age online where he meet this girl. They talked for a while and sent some pictures. Apparently the girl's mom found out and went after the guy. He is still getting destroyed in the court system while the girl gets off scot free because he didn't know she was underaged. They had proof she lied about her age but the law said that she can't be charged for it and you CAN be charged for messing with a minor when she lied to him about his age. That is how the law is written. Why? Isn't that easily abusive? That is an easy way to ruin someone's life without any problems. Seems like a terrible law. It'll keep rooms a lot cooler even without any fans in especially during sunlight hours. I actually have black out curtains for my room but I wasnt sure if using them was a good idea or not. My thought process was either the curtains was going to absorb the heat and make it hotter or keep the heat out. The reasoning behind that is complicated and I dont want to type an essay about it. I also work overnights so I have to sleep during the day. My thermostat can reach as high as 90 degrees Fahrenheit even as late as 8 PM. When I get home from work in the morning, it isnt uncommon for the thermostat to be in the mid 80s. I keep windows open and I freeze a bunch of water and put it next to my fan while Im going to bed. It barely helps at all. I had no problem dealing with this for the short term but as the days roll on, it gets hotter and hotter. That means it becomes more and more unbearable.
