The only reason I'm not on board with it is because you know the colleges will then raise tuition significantly higher on everyone else to now make up for the money they are losing by having to pay the athletes.

The thing is that when researchers get grants, the university pilfers like 50% of it. So researchers quite literally make the university a bunch of money.
