I wanted to say something in here but a lot of the responses in this topic seem like poor reasons not to have kids. A lot of you just seem like bitter grumps.

Don't fucking shame people for not wanting to have kids. If the survival of our species is in play, sure. Otherwise how many literal THOUSANDS of kids are in foster care or being raised by people who didn't want to be parents? If someone knows, for whatever reason, they don't want to be parents, leave them be.

My wife has a connective tissue problem as well as MCAS. She would almost certainly die if she tried to carry a pregnancy to term. Given her health problems and how it leaves her feeling on a daily basis, she's not really keen on raising a child either.

We might adopt later if the health problems get sorted out, but not thinking about that too much.

I honestly value my private time with my wife too much to put that aside for the life of another.

If that makes me a jerk in the minds of some people, I'm fine with that.

Batman has a lot of experience fighting people with super powers. A Jedi is basically someone with super powers. I see no reason why he couldn't beat a Jedi.

I did play the demo they put out but I assume maybe there are some tips and tricks I should know before getting started.

I shall recount my round now that I got a nap in.

First hole is a little dog left around a water hazard, about 340 yards. After a mulligan on my first drive attempt (first drive of the year, first person on the course, doesn't count) I hit it right to the corner. Take a 9 iron into the hole, ends up being just short. Chip on, miss a 9 foot putt for par. Bogey.

Second hole is a like, 95 yard par 3. Misjudged the wind and hit it just past the hole. Chipped on within 6 feet, lipped the putt and made a bogey.

Third hole is another par 4, around 360 or so. Lots of water to the right and I dunked it in on my drive. So my now third shot is from a recovery area but I kinda duff it a bit. Hit my 4th from about 25 yards out to within 10 feet, missed my putt. Bugger! Double Bogey.

Fourth hole is the Par 4 from that previous picture. Hit a beautiful drive but just barely missed getting it past the bunker. The bunker is around 175 yards so I had 170 yards in the air. Hit a stinger out of the bunker a bit right of the green. Chip up, push a 12 foot putt a bit right. Bogey

Fifth hole is a straight on 175 yard Par 3... hitting directly into the sun. Hit a beautiful 3 iron that ends up about 5 yards short of the green. Chip up within 6 feet. LIP OUT THE DAMN PUTT! Bogey

Sixth hole I finally got myself a great drive, hit it about 230 yards or so (my body has changed a lot recently so my driver isn't exactly hitting it major distance), I have about 110 yards but I push my 9 iron to the right, leaving me a really bad angle to the green. Basically I have an uphill approach to a downhill hole placement. Not confident in the flop I tried to basically chip it into the hill and kinda bump onto the green. Not too bad overall, leave about a 12 foot putt coming back up the green. As is tradition, I miss the putt a bit and thus... Bogey.

I was the first person on the course this morning... no rake in sight. Dunno if some drunk players the previous day thought it was funny to move it or what.

Also I walked in very carefully and tried not to make more of a mess. Ugh

never played a course that wasnt 9 or 18. a 6 hole course sounds interesting

6 is really neat cause if you only have like 90 minutes you can do a quick 6, but if you have more time you can do a 12, and you can do a solid 18 if you want as well

Not a par 3 course. The back 6 has 2 par 3's, a Par 5, and 3 par 4's

We have a course that is two 6-hole courses and if you head out between 6 and 7am, you get to do the back 6 for cheap (10 bucks).

10 bucks for golf is Hella good. If I have a good 6 holes I will be done in like an hour and back home to nap if I want.

Oooof. I'm 38 in a little over a month. The salt and pepper look definitely ages me up.

It is both the most stressful and sad job I've had, but also the most rewarding and like... inspiring job. I'm a Supervisor so I normally do more administrative tasks at this point as well as coach staff so my time with the youth has diminished some.

KOTOR 2 focusing somewhat on Grey Jedi and exploring the nature of the force in more neutral ways is really intriguing.

I wanted to share an experience I had today because it just made me laugh and remind me why I love what I do.

I was working with one of my youth today and I saw they were helping to cook supper. She's like 13 years old and on the spectrum, but just has a lust for life and whatnot that is wonderful. What they were making reminded me a bit of a beef stroganoff, so I asked if that is what she was making. She looked me dead in the eye and said, "I don't think that's a word. You made that up. Don't make up words"

I kinda stifled a laugh because I didn't want to appear rude, but I told her it was definitely a word and was similar to the dish she was making. I pulled up a picture of it and I showed it to her. She looked it up and down and said, "I mean... it's close, but that's a silly made up word. Don't use it again"

Considering earlier in the day I was discussing with a youth about their meth addiction, this interaction was so wholesome and sweet and just... fun.

Even after you are done a questline with someone, they still chat with you and check in and comment on other shit going on in the world. It isn't like they vanish from the narrative, which is nice.
