To be fair, the baby does belong to both parents, and the father should absolutely have a say when deciding the fate of his child.
The womans body belongs to her and only her so no the father should not get any say in what happens to her body.

Why dont men start focusing on their own body autonomy such as fucking wrapping it up or pushing harder for hormonal male birth control instead of placing the onus on women and then trying to control the outcome after.

So, better to starve? Or is there a magical benefactor in this alternative reality?
No child should have to be in the position to have to work to put food on their familys table. Wages have remained flat while our cost of living has increased. That is what needs to be addressed instead of increasing the pool of child labor to use as fodder. The fact that this point is flying over your head says everything about you.

One of his biggest regrets is he didnt get a college degree. He joined the Army at 18 to send money home. He is extremely smart and great at coding, has a great job. But the lack of CS degree has been a factor in getting additional opportunities for advancement. He is really bitter about not having gone. And it was something very embarrassing for him. His job as a kid was to clean toilets and gunk off school desks while the rich white kids at the school were at summer camp (my husband is Hispanic)

it wasn't something i 'had' to do. i wanted to get a job so i could have spending money of my own. getting $100 every 2 weeks was pretty sweet for 14 year-old me. it was not something my parents pressured me into, or anything.

That may have been your situation but thats not the same luxury for everyone. My husband had to work to support his mom and brothers and literally help put food on the table or go hungry. Lowering the minimum age is just corporations looking to further exploit the poor while not increasing wages and living standards. It is predatory.

Oh my goodness, I would love nothing more than to do another persons makeup, even just for fun. I had done one of my girlfriends makeup for her high school reunion, but that was all the way LAST summer at this point. I wasnt nearly as good and I didnt have nearly the collection I have now.

You know what I would absolutely love to do is makeup for perfume and cologne ads, since you get to design for both still shots and video and they use the most interesting lighting and fashion accents, plus the makeup compositions themself are so experimental. You also get to work with such a variety of models, including famous stars and that. Im sure its one of the most prestigious jobs in the industry and very far beyond my reach, but fantasizing about it still motivates me to try and become better.

Idk, Ive been thinking of my future a lot lately, not to be morose but now that I can actually imagine myself having one, I feel pretty far behind in terms of planning. I have a career tract through my current job that would entail taking over the contract when my boss retires, but Im not exactly thrilled about the idea of mail delivery as a life long career. So Im thinking of enrolling in some form of beauty school and either learning more advanced hair and makeup or maybe how to do nails and waxing since the idea of finishing my bachelors doesnt appeal to me either.

But yeh, in short, I think it would be so fulfilling to use makeup to help people express their beauty!

Have you ever had your makeup done professionally? Im sure for your wedding, right? How did you enjoy that experience?
I could totally see you being successful in that field! I hope you do consider going to beauty school, you would kill it. I did get my makeup done for my wedding and also for a holiday party years back. Its always nice for it to be something I dont have to worry about messing up. I usually do my own makeup now that I picked up some tips and such but I like the experience of just it being something off my plate. I did my own makeup for the wedding we attended a week ago but it was so time consuming and had a toddler to chase around too.

You can use a range if you want or just not answer, but how much do you make / are you looking for?

I guess this is a management position though so that's a little more understandable. But four hours in one sitting is still wack.
Between base, bonus and equity, Im making a little over $200k. But the latter two are going down with the market so Im flexible if the base is good. I talked to a tech startup that was at most $170k all in plus paper money (stock options) and I couldnt take that much of a cut.

[LFAQs-redacted-quote]

Damn. Sorry to hear that. Its sort of similar with my situation. Joined this company last year with them selling me on how much theyre growing and its a great time to join for career growth. Then the VP left and they reshuffled everything, market is down and there is no more growth so Im stuck. Its not too dire but Ill explore opportunities as they come up.

Might be time to find a new industry. Speaking as a sales goon, it'd be a shock if the ENTIRE process from initial phone screen to offer acceptance took four total hours.

Half hour HR phone screen
Half hour to hour with hiring manager
Half hour with a peer
Half hour with hiring manager's boss and/or VP of department
Half hour discussing offer if need be.

I have no idea why recruiting would be much different from a process like this. There's two roles with similar work patterns and personalities, there's no reason it should be taking four hours in TOTAL, let alone at once.

It really only makes sense for jobs like coding/engineering to have four hours at once.
These are at tech companies so they essentially make recruiters also go through long drawn out interviews. The stakes are high money wise and the bar is high for what they look for. Pretty much any tech company will make me go through 4+ hours. The ones who dont wont be able to offer anywhere near my salary.

Last month I also had no sleep the night before again because my daughter was up all night. And I was just stumbling over all my words. It was a manager role which is what I was hoping to get. They did make me an offer but it was a lateral move for less money.

I just dont see how I can pass these interviews in my current state.
