This game literally already exist inside another game with the majority of pokemon already in it. Pokemon Go. You can take pictures of pokemon all day and put them in real life backgrounds. Pokemon Snap seems super dated when put up next to that.

It might be best to start on easy difficulty in the adventure mode. They tell you more about the boost system as you progress through it and the first race in particular is one of the hardest in the adventure lol. If you're gonna get into online, you might wanna look up advanced techniques because there's a whole aspect that the game never explains or even references.

Of the three big kart racers of the era (CTR, Diddy Kong Racing, and MK64), CTR definitely offers the highest difficulty curve / skill ceiling of the three. Game takes a bit of mastery to even get past some of the early races, but said mastery is extremely satisfying to experience when achieved. Getting into a nice boost rhythm offers some serious zen for a kart racer.
