A recent Entertainment Weekly interview with Yasuhiro Kitao, a producer at From Software, explains how game director Hidetaka Miyazaki had Martins blessing to take the story wherever.

George R.R. Martin wrote the original mythos for this game, Kitao said through a translator, via Entertainment Weekly. He created a backstory or a history that takes place many, many years before the events of the game itself, and he wrote this in collaboration with Miyazaki.

Kitao continued: Once that original mythos was complete, George R.R. Martin was kind enough to leave that in our hands, so to speak, and to do with that what we will.

Knocked out and died are functionally the same thing if we're talking about how many times Luffy has lost against kaido in this single fight. A good guy being on the back foot and then clawing their way to victory is compelling. The main character being knocked unconscious or killed four times in the same fight is dumb.

I really don't get the hype. Luffy being knocked out for the fourth time against kaido in a fight that has been dragging itself along for far too long, all so that Oda the DBZ fanboy can finally have his Super Saiyan moment where the dead hero resurrects with a legendary power is just really, really lame.

The worst part is that if the teacher hadn't called out the union would probably be stepping in to protect that job, but since it's an administrator the union isn't going to do shit.

The practice of tacking 9/10 of a cent on the end of a gas price goes back to when gas cost only pennies per gallon and was a tax imposed by state and federal governments. Gas stations added the fraction of a cent on the end of the price instead of rounding up the price. Back then, a full penny would have been a budget-buster for customers. The federal tax was implemented in 1932 as part of the Revenue Act of 1932 and was supposed to expire in 1934 except it never did.

That 9/10 remains decades later, even though gas taxes are well over a penny. As of January 2017, federal, state and local taxes accounted for 19.5 percent of the price of a gallon of gas, according to Investopedia.

I usually don't buy official Apple accessories for that reason and while I don't agree with removing ports and find it somewhat inconvenient, that is the strategy they have been using for years and it has apparently worked for them.

No matter what though, many of their flagship products are indeed high-quality and well-priced. You guys need to stop acting like everything is either good or bad.

I'll be fair here: Apple's core hardware is in fact well built and one of the big reasons they're popular is because the hardware lasts a long time and (outside of throttling them) the batteries tend to last a long time between charges. I still think you could cut $1000 off a Macbook pro and it would still be reasonably priced (even FOR the hardware quality), but that doesn't mean the build quality isn't there. That being said, apple users REALLY need to stop hyping up every new feature like it's some revolution when 99% of what Apple does is repackage stuff that's available elsewhere and pretend it's new. If the selling point is that the interface is simple, that doesn't make it better or more advanced than anything else out there. It just means it's simpler. What seems to set off "apple haters" isn't that they sell expensive products. It's that they sell expensive products that fans put on a pedestal when the big selling point seems to be stuff everyone else has had for years.

Instead of looking at these random accessories for their most expensive product that most people have no need for and aren't even interested in, why not look at their products which are popular, are competitively priced, and are arguably the best/highest quality available products in their category.

Such as the iPhone, iPad, Apple Watch, Airpods, Airtags, etc.

They also overcharge for that stuff though, too. If you get an iPad the "pro" keyboard is like $300. They charge like $50 for replacement laptop chargers. Their accessories have historically been grossly overpriced. So if you want to argue the iPhone or iPad is reasonably priced, you'd have to assume the buyer has no accessories, which is practically impossible since Apple stopped selling their phone with a packaged in charger, they keep changing the connector standard they use, and they keep stripping away ports so you basically HAVE to buy a USB hub to use their products.

Last gen they were running on Intel chips, but this current gen uses proprietary M1 ARM processors so the OS will be fundamentally incompatible with other hardware. This also means all apple software needs an update so some products may not run on the latest gen hardware right away and you'll need to wait for that company to release a patch.

This is actually what caused me to quit the game. While I enjoy playing tanks, my favorite thing to do was bounce between multiple classes as the round went on based on what my team seemed to be most lacking in the moment. Locking me into a role meant I couldn't do that anymore so I just lost all interest.

Honestly I don't think the two of them as people are similar. I just think Trudeau looks like he could be a secret missing Wilson brother. The real problem with Trudeau is he's proof that if you're young, attractive, and charismatic you can basically charm your way through any scandal and people will quickly forget. If he was old and ugly I don't see him going through all the scandals he's been through and walk away basically unscathed.

The fact that they never gave it a name does a bad job of selling the game as well. I had no idea the game was actually out because whenever I saw "Triangle Strategy" I assumed it was still in early development since they hadn't revealed the game's real name yet.

furthermore, you're doubly full of it if you think people aren't troweling the wikis and asking for help on subreddits and things because the game just leaves you to fail without warning. the repeated playthroughs thing worked with the others because they were more linear, less broad and sprawling in scope, and in that regard, it was harder to miss things in general, but apparently my way of enjoying the game is wrong, and missing out on things without even knowing it until you crack open the wiki on NG+ after like 100 hours already is too much of a cornerstone of the experience to be criticized. god forbid someone wants to play at their own pace without being punished for it. but i digress. never gonna understand the stubborn aversion to quality of life changes in games.

It's not that I don't care if I miss shit. It's that I care more about an organic experience where my decision on where to go, who to help, and in what order to do things is my own and the game respects those decisions by giving them meaningful consequences. I care more about the fact that a "quest" involves hearing a rumor from an NPC, piecing together what it means, and then going on an adventure to reach that place. It means I have to pay attention, rather than mashing through dialogue to get a new row added to a quest table. THAT is something worth defending and is a conscious design decision made by the FROM team. It's more than just "hurr it doesn't effect me so screw everyone else who doesn't like it."

I see you didnt really read my post because I called these something dumb with a huge markup.

But just because they sell these dumb wheels or the dumb stand things for huge markups doesnt mean that their ecosystem of products, namely the Mac, MacBook, iPad, and iPhone lines, all seemlessly work together and was the main point of that part of my post. I can copy something on my iPhone and paste it on my MacBook or iPad without anything too crazy or extra needed.

One issue is that things like achievements and trophies kinda incentivize you to 100% the game from the get go. I don't like those things and this is why. People feel like they have to follow a guide to get platinum or whatever, when they should just... stop caring about platinum. Or rather, at least acknowledge that not every game is built for getting platinum, especially not in a single playthrough.

Yeah, I'm not one of those people that will claim that achievements have "ruined gaming" but they have definitely rewired how people think about playing and we're seeing the ripple effects of that in game design.

That, and progression systems. I have a couple of friends that can't play games anymore unless they have some sort of progression system because they feel like they're wasting their time playing those "regular" games when they could be playing another game that rewards them for their time. The whole concept of the game itself being a reward that you play in your free time has been lost to them.

A quick question over consumables, specifically crafting with pots and spirit ashes.

From what I can tell, a cracked pot is taken when you make consumables that requires it, but you get the pot back after the item is used? If I make a fire bomb and then throw it, do I get a fire bomb back when I rest at a bonfire or do I just get the pot back and I need to craft a new one?

For Spirit ashes I just got my first one and noticed in the item description it had a quantity of one and a spot to show how many I had stored away. Are spirit ashes basically spells where I use mana to summon them? Or are they consumables that I'll have to buy more of when I use them on top of the mana cost?

Square has been fishing for another revenue stream to match ff14 for a while now. They've got this, they published babylon's fall, there's the avengers game, etc, and that doesn't even include all the mobile gacha games they have.

They're failing miserably on every attempt because it looks like they're just trying to copy blindly from other companies without understanding what makes those systems work and what doesn't.

The actual solution is to stop trying to 100% your games on a single play through and actually enjoy the game for being a game. People constantly complain about choices not mattering in games, but then one comes out where your choices actually have consequences and people are freaking out because they need a wiki to try and weave some sort of mythical single play through platinum run.

Just play the game. You'll see what you'll see, and other people will see different things, and that's just how it's going to be, by design.

Don't forget they also sell a $1,000 monitor stand. Is it a smart stand, or one that has an array of USB ports, or one that has a Bluetooth speaker? No, it has no features. It's just a stand. That will be $1,000.

It's a little weird to see the writer talking about their "ethical responsibility" to report about this extra child like there's some sort of noble purpose behind this other than being the one to break the story.
