That's consistent with the way the PC works in other games (or at least SwSh). It's just more annoying because you're catching more, and no matter what the new Pokemon always start from the beginning instead of whatever last box you were using.

Midway through the Mirelands, I figured the best way to tackle the pastures is to leave the first few empty for new catches to pile up in, and to start organizing my living dex with pasture 4.

Debating whether to spend merit points on a Sun Stone for Petilil.

Trying to ride Ursaluna is very annoying when you have to constantly jump off to deal with the Pokemon trying to attack you while you search for the dig spots. They really should've let you throw stuff while riding it.

I just realized I accidentally released my Alpha Shinx while clearing up a bunch of other extra Shinxes. :(

Wow, looks like I caught at least one of every base form available in the Mirelands on my initial exploratory sweep, minus Cyndaquil from distortions.

Was also pleased with myself for finding the way to cross the river to the south.

I'm getting close to my 7th star and I haven't even done the first story mission in the Mirelands yet. >_>

I don't feel like I'm even grinding them out, either. I'm just exploring and catching everything, while swapping out teammates as they evolve. I just uncovered the last section of the map, so I'll be doing the story soon.

I appreciate being able to physically run away from fights. I was just fighting an Alpha Roserade and failing to catch it, and it had me down to my last Pokemon. Sensing my impending doom, I started running as my Ursaring's health was depleting and Samurott was forced out. Luckily I got far enough away before having to find out whether the Roserade was going to get two turns in a row.

Feel like I'm having some good luck with distortions. Got a Porygon in the first one, and just got two Johtonian Sneasels in my second one.

And I found a shiny Starly. Absolutely would not have if not for the sound playing. Some of these Pokemon appear really small on handheld, so even after hearing it I still couldn't really be sure what was shiny, so I just caught all three Starly from a distance. Then I caught the nearby Geodude for good measure, haha.

Oh, there's actually a static Alpha Scyther. I somehow didn't notice it before.

I also tried resetting for a shiny Shinx in an outbreak before that, but I'm not sure I was doing it right for most of it. I saved in Jubilife, cleared them out, quit. Then I rebooted and forgot about auto-save because I started out at the camp, so I disabled that and went back to Jubilife, saved, and then repeatedly cleared them out and reset. I just couldn't tell if I was doing it right or if I was just encountering the exact same batch of Shinxes over and over.

After a while, I decided to clear most but not all and go back to Jubilife and back, and the outbreak was refreshed and that time actually spawned an Alpha (caught it). So I did the same of clearing out most and going back again, but then suddenly the outbreak shifted to some Parasects. Oh well.

Started exploring the second area last night. I always try to get the lost satchels whenever they appear, and the game put one all the way over in the southeast corner on my very first trip, so that was quite a trek to get there.

I managed to stealth catch an Alpha Tangrowth, Yanmega, Carnivine, and I think Rhyhorn in Leaden Balls. Tried Lickilicky and Honchkrow too, but gave up after too many failures. I'm not sure what all is rare in this section, but I caught a Togepi, a Bonsly from collecting ore, and two Turtwigs. The Turtwig respawned, so I'm guessing it was common for that spot.

For the first time, I hit the flashing red stage when a murder of Murkrows all ganged up on me (and then I recovered, I turned around and caught them all). I was also close to losing all my Pokemon once or twice, but that was more on me for being negligent with heals. My first rift also gave me trouble, but I caught a Porygon and 2-3 more Eevees.

Also I have Samurott! Oh yeah, and a Graveler dropped a Black Augurite, so it's Kleavor time. Tempted to do a bit of hunting for an Alpha Scyther spawn first...

I imagine most people give an Alpha Parasect to Morel. I went and caught a second to give him.

It's just Alpha Bidoof. Spawned randomly in place of a normal Bidoof.

Oh nice, looks like this game fixed stone evolutions by giving them all proper level up learnsets. I purposely used my first Thunderstone on Jolteon instead of Raichu, because I wasn't sure if Raichu would be able to learn anything new if I evolved it right away. But it does! They all do!

Poke Balls are the standard spots it has a chance to spawn in, star is where a mass outbreak would be if it happens, and the swirly is a potential rift spot. Serebii lists the standard encounter rates as between 8-16%.

I believe I've caught at least one of every base Pokemon I can find in Obsidian Fieldlands for now (meaning without surf/fly or in rifts). Happiny was the last one. Well, except the Alpha Heracross.

I guess it's time to go see what Kleavor's up to.

Oh, haha, I wandered upon one of those as I was making my way back from Sandgem Flats the first time. It was right past the Snorlax.

Caught a Monferno instead. That works too!

I almost walked right past it because I thought its fire was another torch along the path.

I scared away a Chimchar and it respawned as a Zubat. Normally I think to save when I see something that might be rare, but I forgot this time. :(

Also I love I managed to walk up some cliff wall and immediately a couple level 40 Machokes ran up to me and started flexing. The best part is I was able to maneuver behind each of them and catch them in Heavy Balls. It was weird though, because a little later another Machoke did aggro me.

I was glad there is also a moss rock in the first area.

Only Eevee inaccessible to me is Glaceon so far via evolution.

Took about five times of running back there from the camp, but I got another one to spawn and caught it. And with the Water Stone I found while exploring Luxray country, I now have a Vaporeon!

Damn satchel space. Managed to climb up somewhere high filled with Luxrays and I had to drop some stuff to make room for the rarer goodies. Also caught a level 23 Wormadam, lol.

Now I'm really far away from where I'm supposed to be. Saw a Togekiss, though. That was cool.

I saw a couple Eevees really early but they got spooked from really far away. I put a star on the map, but they haven't respawned. I'm guessing I got both lucky and unlucky?

Wordle being acquired by the Times is whatever. That just means that some unofficial version will become the next Wordle. And good thing too honestly, 1 wordle per day is lame.

The game's general concept is public-domain; it used to be a game show (https://youtu.be/DbgD4rIr9oM?t=562). The only thing they really bought is the name Wordle and probably the general design of the specific web page. They can't shut down unofficial Wordles just for using the game mechanics.

Those two ladies really did not seem to understand how the game works, lol.

The Pokemon Adventure manga has been rolling with that concept for decades.

I still don't love Cyndaquil.

Oh that's weirder, since by that point you'd assume they'd specifically be casting for her future appearances.

Cassie becomes a superhero in the comics right? Maybe they're going that route in the MCU and the original actress didn't want that role or wasn't cut out for it or something.

I'm pretty sure I've seen people say "at least it's something different from the standard Marvel movie" for every Marvel movie in the past five years.

Watched Eternals. I liked it well enough. I thought it did a fine job of juggling all the characters. Only real complaint is the Deviant plotline petering out at the end in a fairly unremarkable way, but like said earlier, it was a red herring.

Also I feel like surely Tiamut's formation and emergence must've done some actual damage to the Earth's interior/core? lol

Episode 3 filled me up with joy, it was pure filler.

I'm excited for Strange 2 and Thor 4, as well as Moon Knight and Secret Invasion. I expect I'll enjoy Ms. Marvel and She-Hulk too, but I don't have the hype for them yet. Worried about Black Panther 2.
