I didn't even know if I liked the game for the first several days. It just drops you in with minimal knowledge of what you're supposed to be doing, and it's frustrating.

But once it clicks and I started charting out paths of things to do at certain times of the day, that hooked me.

I still don't think it's a 10/10 game by any means, but I definitely like it more than Dishonored.

Yeah, I've played and love all Soulslike games, but I still think most of the lore is just intentional nonsense, and the explanations are just fan theories.

I played it for the first time earlier this month on Switch.

It has problems, but it's mostly good. Might be the weakest mainline entry, but it's still good. I enjoyed it

Yeah, Italian westerns were a unique breed of grit and coolness. They're closer in tone to Kurosawa samurai movies (the first movie in the trilogy was a blatant remake of Yojimbo).

Yeah, Arwen had zero relevance in Two Towers, and adding her in the movie had about as much backlash as removing Tom Bombadil.

She was supposed to fight in Helm's Deep, and they had to re-write it due to the negative response, and even then, there was still some hostility from the fanbase.

Yeah, that's the thing. I've heard criticism of BDSP and SwSh, but I've got nothing to go on comparatively with them for the last 20 years of games, so I don't think I would be affected by some issues as much

I do really want to play Arceus because I prefer open world games (just don't want to play an open world game right now), and I do think I would like it more.

But, I haven't played a mainline game since Gen 3. I have some FOMO with Arceus, but that extends to the rest of the series right now too.

Also, my gf has Shining Pearl. She's not playing it atm, but it'd give us something to do

Because often when studios try something original, it flops. It's harder to advertise now and media is more broad, so leaning towards nostalgia is typically a safer bet.
