Having a per capita issue doesn't make something likely to happen to the average person. If you're worried about getting shot by the police, you should probably be worried about driving anywhere. You're probably looking at similarly low odds of dying with every action you take.

In regards to the Covid lockdowns, he also said that he doesn't care if people get sick and die because him being able to go to Gamestop and Subway is more important.
