Yeah, I don't think forcing people to vote in four matches turned away a lot of voters.

What it does do is create a lot of apathy voters, where instead of not voting in a match where you don't know/care about either option you are forced to. In most matches this probably cancels out as people just randomly select an option, but it can benefit characters/games with high recognition (e.g. Pac-Man) should they go up against a more niche opponent, leading to more blowouts.

I think the bucket would defeat Stanley, it has Weighted Companion Cube vibes. Obviously The Stanley Parable would get crushed by Portal so regardless it'll be weak, but the joke factor is still there.

The bracket for the Masters 8 tournament has been revealed. Despite people wanting an Ash/Alain match, the top 4 seeds will face the bottom 4 seeds.

Leon vs. Alain
Lance vs. Diantha
Cynthia vs. Iris
Steven vs. Ash

The winner of Leon/Alain will face the winner of Lance/Diantha. While the winner of Cynthia/Iris will face the winner of Steven/Ash.

I guess they didn't want to make Cynthia a first round loser and have Alain defeat Steven so the two can meet in the semis. Regardless, this should be a great tournament.

Not sure what to expect from Canada, they are currently negotiating with the federation over the split for the World Cup prize and with the women's team also in the middle of negotiating a new contract the federation likely doesn't want to offer too much in fear that the women's team will ask for the same thing.

I don't think the host quota will be a stand alone thing. It will come at a decrease of the host(s)'s continent. So CONCACAF will have six, but three of them will go to Canada/United States/Mexico.

I think there's still a small push to force Canada to qualify on its own, but I don't think it has gotten much traction. I feel the hosts will always qualify unless we get a repeat of Euro 2020 where an entire continent hosts the World Cup.

I think Australia will stay, they have more to gain in terms of experience by playing against Asian teams, particularly in the continental tournaments and as you mentioned, they should have no issue qualifying as one of the 8 teams.

I feel one of the reasons why there's a play-off tournament is because it would look bad to give South America seven quotas for ten teams, even if the quality is there.

I think a lot of the countries outside of Europe that are in that 'not quite good enough to qualify' camp will have a bit more of a spring in their step during the next WC cycle. They've given that many places away you pretty much only need a half decent team to qualify in most regions.

I mean, 2026 will be a 48 team tournament, that's almost a quarter of all national teams, no doubt there will be a drop in quality.

I do think Europe should have been given more spots. Remove one from Asia and CONCACAF and give it to Europe. Also give Europe a spot to compete in the play-offs.

What happened to Honduras? They use to be in the tier with Costa Rica right below Mexico/United States and now they have fallen back into the pack.

The rise of Let's Plays and Wikis (and the refusal of GameFAQs to include them) really killed the need for a site like GameFAQs so all that remains are people who stay for the community aspect.

I'd like to see a breakdown, but I wouldn't be surprised if the Q&A section is the most used gaming feature on GameFAQs and for most people that's a quick Google search and then you leave.

Given how the vote totals changed between 2002 and 2003 we could see another jump if we hold the poll again next year.

To me 85F is an above average summer high while 25F would be a below average winter low which is why I'd call them comparable.

A better comparison would either be 0 F vs 95 F or 25 F vs 85 F

If we take manga Red into account I imagine he's durable enough to take at least one blow from Donkey Kong. It makes sense in the context of Pokemon. If the humans in that universe were as frail as us, the Pokemon would have taken over a long time ago.

If the former, then Red will win due to 6v1ing Donkey Kong, if the latter then Donkey Kong probably shrugs off whatever Pikachu does to him before knocking out Red.

Could there be a delay if there's a disagreement about how much to award Depp? If so, we may not get a verdict today.

It seems odd that absolutely everything always goes wrong for Heard, youd think shed at least get one victory.

It's difficult for lawyers to defend you when they don't have all the information (or are lied to by their client) or are being strong-armed into presenting facts in a certain way. More so in uphill cases as seen with Heard.
