Day 5 - I can see! Still a bit cloudy like I need to wipe my glass lens, which is kinda weird seeing as Im not wearing glasses. Also, cant rub my eye to clear it which is frustrating at times. Last couple days I couldnt even look at my phone with how blurry everything was but things are a lot better today.

Shikanoin Heizou Analytical Harmony
Detective of the Tenryou Commission

A young detective from the Tenryou Commission. Free-spirited and unruly, but cheerful and lively.

At first glance, Heizou seems like an ordinary young man, but he is actually the undisputed number one detective in the Tenryou Commission.

Not only does he possess a wild imagination, but he also has a mind for meticulous logic and reasoning, as well as an extraordinary sense of intuition when it comes to solving cases.

Whenever a crime occurs, his colleagues rely on experience to help them with handling the case, but Heizou brings in an out-of-the-box perspective and gets straight to the crux of the case.

People are impressed by his razor-sharp intuition, thinking that his reasoning ability and efficiency are godlike. Here, Heizou would simply reply with his signature smile: "I don't know, maybe this is something that even the gods can't do!"

A year and a half aint nothing, people will remember shit regardless of time if it caused them any stress or heavy thoughts. And seeing as she has dealt with marriage without prenups and lending money out, it stuck with her. This is why communication is so important. Its too late now but it wouldve been better to let her know instead of an app. Going forward I would take that to heart and just be more transparent about things.

I agree that its probably best to get the money some other way and absolutely do not guilt trip her about it either, because its easy to get emotional during a stressful situation.

Also, also stop borrowing money. My two cents.

So just got done with me pre-surgery stuff. I was told that there is some abnormal spots on my cornea but after further review they said I was okay for surgery.

They also recommended that I do PRK, since they have a 97% success rate at Travis AFB, while LASIK is 90%.

I also was told that my pupils are larger than normal which has a higher chance that they halos might not go away, that was concerning to hear

That being said, the one criticism I won't accept:

Upon leaving the theater I heard people complaining that it sucked solely because it didn't set up stuff enough, which is just such a nothing response and implies the movie only exists to set up other movies. If you can't enjoy a movie for the movie itself and not solely for the amount of sequels it might have, that's on you. I can't imagine wanting movies that are just filler until the next thing

Weve been accustomed to watch every MCU movie as they come out because they are all connected. Sure you have people who jump in randomly on a movie and be completely confused because they havent watched it all and dont know who Thanos is. But majority of us have watched it all, and all the TV shows, and know that something is going on in the background that we all want to know more about. Not saying it was a bad movie just I expected a little more when it comes to the multiverse.

And side note, Everything Everywhere All At Once did it better.

The best parts of it were the horror parts. Loved those segments.

But other than that, ummm, it feels like there isn't really a road map of where the MCU is headed in regards to the multiverse. Where the hell is Kang? Or even Spider-man when all this shit is happening. Best part was Scarlet Witch destroying the Illuminati though, I really hope this isn't the last of her.

I might be the perfect person to ask about this because I've literally gotten both - LASIK in my left eye and PRK in my right.

LASIK has better results, immediate results, and no pain. It's downright incredible. Literally 2 hours after the surgery I was seeing better than 20/20 vision and it hasn't changed since. PRK is quite a different story though. The results are still decent long-term, but my vision remains blurrier than I was hoping for in my right eye. The first week after PRK you'll be relegated to staying in a dark room because light hurts your eye intensely. The first three or so months you won't see very well out of it at all. Around 6 months you'll start getting closer to your final results, but it will still heal for over a year. And it never got as good as my left eye. I've thought about even getting contacts for my right eye because it's a little annoying, but like, it's not terribly blurry or anything. Just a little. If I didn't get a taste of LASIK in my left eye, I wouldn't know what I was missing out on.

Basically, if you can get LASIK in both, that's absolutely what you want. It's miraculous and there's a reason it's been the go-to standard, unless you simply have to get PRK because of your corneas. For me, I was blind in my right eye for 2 years because of a corneal ulcer, so the fact that I could even get PRK was kind of a miracle in itself. It's hard to complain about my results after being blind.

Good luck, DC! Here's hoping you qualify for LASIK.

Sounds about right with PRK. A coworker of mine has gotten PRK, and swears by it, but warned me about it taking over a year to fully heal, and even after a few years, he says that his eyes are not at 100% but he's cool with it cause he can redo the procedure later on down the road if he needs to. LASIK is a one-time thing, but I'm heavily leaning towards that one if I qualify after hearing all your stories. Thank you!

Im getting the procedure done thru the Air Force , at Travis AFB, and I am required to stay in the local area for 7 days since Im from out of town. So Ill be staying at their Fisher House.

Hmm, so LASIK seems to be the way to go. PRK seems to be popular these days, but it looks like the recovery time is significantly more than LASIK.

A basic rundown is that they lay you down on a table, clamp your eyelids to stay open Clockwork Orange-style

Well, that's kind of a relief and what I'd expect because there is no damn way I will be able to keep my eyes open without blinking/flinching. Even putting eye drops in my eye is difficult for me, which is also why I've never worn contacts.

Hoping for some heavy drugs while they do this.

My pre-op appointment is May 11, sign paperwork and stuff on the 12th, and the surgery is on the 13th. And staying at a near by facility til the 19th for my post-op appointment before I can drive back home.

From my understanding I will have the option of getting Lasik or PRK, depending if my eyes qualify for either or. Has anyone gotten one of these procedures done before and how was your experience?

I'm actually terrified, but I would like to not wear glasses anymore, so.
