Im pretty sure you can see the film cartridge come to the ground when It goes after Frys guy and regurgitates. Those type of film cartridges are closed to light even after theyre taken off. So it could theoretically survive.

That makes sense, but isn't that at odds with his statement that no one deserves to see the impossible?

i was discussing this with my bf after we watched it. before he walked out with the one camera he told the kid "no one deserves to see the impossible" because they were getting the "impossible shot." i think he was so overtaken by what he saw he wanted to destroy the footage because he felt no one should see it. it was something special and obviously out of this world.

every time we saw him prior to this scene he was editing very weird footage of different animals killing each other

i think the allegory for the movie is supposed to be about animal abuse in the entertainment industry. so i think this was his way of saying like if this footage gets out, this animal will definitely be either killed or somehow restrained and have something nefarious happen to it and those outcomes would all be because HE filmed and released the footage.

That's a good take. I did notice the animals eating/killing each other in his footage. So basically he seemed obsessed with the way animals consume each other and didn't want to be responsible for ending the largest animal vore around lol

Although I'm sure he could've figured out another way to destroy the photos without ending his life. Simply exposing the film to sunlight would work right?

And yeah definitely agree with the theme of animal abuse and the fact that you can't always tame a wild animal/predator

I enjoyed it about the same as Us but not as much as Get Out. Although I was confused about why the hand-camera guy just walked into the open and killed himself towards the end
