Got my 10th stamp before the 5th JP banner closed. I took Rem's sync since I figure I will eventually need to run all the labyrinth dungeons season 1-6 even if I don't do any farming. I was torn though on grabbing Red XIII's though because I would already have a respectable earth magic team if I had (I would just need to lens his chain which I'll be able to do in another week).

Also I realized they gave me a ton of MC select crystals, not sure if those were some kind of login bonus since I didn't see them in the dungeon rewards. Anyway I used a few of them and then absolutely crushed the d100 Phantom Train I needed to unlock better powerup dungeons and artifacts. I'm wondering if I might actually be close to doing full Nightmares, it would be nice to unlock 6* abilities so I don't have to invest a bunch in 5* abilities that will be obsolete very soon.

Got my first halfway decent healer in JP - I spent my stamp USB pick on Lenna's brave and I spent my first lenses on her proshellga glint. Now I need a support. I seem to remember one of the books of trials gives Ramza's shout, but I'm still a ways from being able to unlock the next one (need to clear a d120 nightmare dungeon)

I have a small number of greens right now... I'm waiting to see which MCs I get from realm dungeons for now but I'll go that route later. At the moment I probably need to buy motes, crystal waters, and orbs more with my greens.

Pretty disappointing TBH, the Prompto glint is probably the most useful one of those.

JP FFRK Day 3 - I'm definitely enjoying the journey at this point. My biggest bottleneck right now is memory crystals. Their placement in realm dungeons seems pretty random so I just have a few right now. My best character theoretically is Krile because I got her sync and zenith... but she's capped at level 50 so I haven't really been using her.

The very early realm dungeons didn't seem to give that many stamina shards but the early-mid ones give tons. I haven't gained a single stamina from time yet because I'm always over my max. As of today I had to start running the 5 stamina per round EXP dungeons to avoid hitting the 999 stamina cap. The 15 stamina per round EXP dungeons are locked behind doing a d120 (I think) nightmare dungeon, along with all the crystal dungeons (except some version of crystal meadow). Gonna keep plugging away at it. I am hoping to get 10 fest pulls before the end of fest for the free sync... I had my 6th today and am working toward #7.

I've continued running realm dungeons in JP in the background (mostly while playing Elden Ring)... there are a ton of these things. After 2 days I'm only at 58 stamina. Not really sure why I'm still doing it, especially after I realized I'm going to have to redo the record dungeons if I'm serious about playing JP and doing those all back to back sounds horrible.

I'm also trying Japanese FFRK, but I'm really having to lean on Google Lens to understand the menus even though I know how to play. I think I'm probably not going to stick with it, but I'll play a bit more before I decide for sure. No good pulls yet, I did get a 1/11 with what looks like a water magic DASB for Onion Knight.

Congrats! Did you have both Quistis SA1 and LBGS to deal with both FBs? Or did you ignore one/both?

I used her realm chain to counter FBs, it worked fine, although the 99% chain count limit was a little annoying, if I run it again I might use Rinoa's limit chain to raise the cap. She also had her bio Sync and awakening for damage.

Didn't get anything helpful from the banner, but cleared the D700 anyway. The most miraculous part of this was I meant to bring the heal RW but I accidentally brought Bonds of Historia, which meant I wasted a turn and had a reset chain one time in the middle of the fight. Doing the full realm team instead of Mog made things way easier, and Zan is extremely good even when all I have for Fujin is two awakenings and nothing more advanced.

Picked up a Basch dyad and Cinque awakening from the free draws today.

First try on D700 I only got her to 37.7%. This boss is tanky as hell, and Selphie isn't that great of a healer. There's a lot of anti-heal too.

Second try, first one got ended by silence on slots 2 and 4, so I had to change my positions. (This is the d600)

This maintenance is making me sad about the game ending, there's still exciting stuff left to do. The announcement confirms we will get the VII crystal dungeon which I wasn't sure about, I thought the new content might stop after Fire crystal dungeon. I'm hoping that also means one more maintenance with the realm ticket update!

There was a notification for updating the loyalty draw which seems totally pointless at this point, but nothing about the realm/elemental draw. I really hope they do those too since I've been sitting on all these tickets, but I'm not feeling optimistic now.

Yeah, I'm not going to restart either. If I could transfer my account over I'd try JP but to me the idea of putting in that much grind again doesn't really appeal.

I'm going to try to avoid gacha games in the future. I liked this one, but it was a special case because of Final Fantasy and 2d art. I don't think there are any other properties out there that I like as much and also have such a wide range of characters and battles to draw from. (Even so there's been a ton of repetition by now, but I guess we're never getting that Warmech fight.)

Yeah, that kinda sucks. It's not THAT unexpected, it kinda feels like the game has run its course. But the thing that sucks is there probably won't be any kind of wrap up, we won't get a bunch of content that was already released in Japan. Since they say they're going to stop selling gems 8/31 I think that might be the end of new content for us, with the last month just being a chance to complete anything you want to do before the shutdown.

So JP has a new tier of SBs which I don't fully understand yet. Looks like it includes at least 3 different buffs, one of which is HP+astra, one is double cast, and one is a weird infusion that boosts a different element too (Vivi gets fire infusion that boosts earth?) anyway, more Vivi relics to draw for.

I had Y'shtola start out as healing and switched to damage later in the fight. Cait Sith provided some healing, and Alphinaud had his healing USB for emergencies but I don't think I used it.

The half price banner I was trying to remember is the next IX event in about 3 months.

Also the spell blade crystal dungeon which just dropped in Japan has holy and dark 6* spellblade abilities. The cool thing about that is it lets Orlandu do the Rydia/Zidane trick with his sync+awakening. Although it would have been more relevant two years earlier, I could see it still being useful.

Half price banner is always tempting, but I don't really want to invest in the Turks. Although I do have Reno's sync and awakening already, by accident. But he doesn't get a dyad here for some reason... I think it's a pass. I think there's a better half price banner coming up but I can't remember which event it is.

I definitely am pulling this fest since it has tons of characters I like (Vivi, Rydia, Rinoa, Serah), or at least have good stuff for and use (Squall, Laguna, Prompto).

Fest is finally almost here, along with the newest tier of content, crystal dungeons with D600 Neo Bahamut and D700 Bahamut ZERO. Hopefully also a refresh of the realm/element ticket pools to finally have DASBs.

Deathgaze has three 70% full breaks. It was kind of annoying. But with the power of my IX team he was still pretty easy to sub 30 on the first try.

Vivi finished him off just in time with a massive My Memory (charged sync command 1) of 4x6x29999 (720k) and he still had the linked ability in the tank.

Is there no RoP/LotR this fest or is it just starting later than usual? I was expecting it to start by now.

I thought of that, but 5 realm characters should give a 10% damage boost and Mog's AASB gives 9% so that shouldn't be it.

Hmm, well, Quina would have helped your physical damage a lot, but I can't explain Eiko. Zidane's chain is better than the RW chain so maybe that's it. I wasn't paying that much attention to how much damage she was doing actually, it was mostly my physical damage that was bad, especially when Taharka went into the curled stance.

Also, got Iris's sync from the free draw. It's new so that's nice.

I didn't realize this boss has a full break... I guess I will be using Mog again, just like my DK team.

I think my team is Zidane/Vivi/Beatrix/Eiko/Quina. I have a decent Garnet but with Quina as support it probably makes more sense to use Beatrix. Vivi is way better than my 3rd best physical character in the realm though.

The elemental ticket banners should be refreshed pretty soon so that might be an option for trying to get more earth magic.

Today was my 2600 devotion day, nice unexpected 15 mythril bonus!

IX labyrinth tomorrow has the same problem as every IX banner, it has one character I love (Zidane) plus others I don't care about. Just once could they give us a banner with Zidane, Vivi, and Garnet? Or Zidane, Vivi, and Beatrix? That would be nice.

I saw that Rydia's earth dual comes back on the Earth Labyrinth banner so I think I will wait for that one. That one also has two of the new limit chains, and it has Galuf/Ingus instead of Master/Freya. I like Master/Freya a bit better, but Galuf/Ingus are probably more useful for me at this point.

Cleared all the job dungeons. Nice event, especially as a Monday bonus with 12 mythril. When the harder job dungeons drop, it's going to be annoying that soul breaks don't count toward the chain count.

Definitely happy to get it, really want her DASB too. But I only have 425 mythril and I want to spend 500 on fest banners. Plus I might do a few ROP this time if they have multiple DAs.

I was excited to get a mogball on my 100 gem pull, but it was Yuna's LBO. I will be pulling on Sunday's Rydia/Master/Freya banner.

My team was Elarra/Quina/Quistis/Edgar/Leila, they were able to get the job done. Good luck!

Got 650 Green Dragon on the second try. 43.75 so not a great time, but good enough for now.

Yeah, Quistis's instant cast HA is really nice, it's just the lack of damage buffs that hurts her.

I really wish there were two bio fights, like all the other elements. They'd have to give us a reusable physical chain though.

I agree Green Dragon is kinda tough. On the 580 I got 30.10 on my first try so I'm going to have to do that one again eventually. And first try on the hard one I died at 7% from a OHKO attack (not his dead end I don't think, but there was a countdown). The mixed team makes it tough, I would go all physical except Quistis has the only reusable chain so it's not really an option. (If I had Leila's and Edgar's I could just use them once each, but I only have Leila's).

I don't have his awakening, so by itself it wouldn't do much. Plus I don't care about him so don't want to spend money on his relics. I'm fine with waiting until fest and the ticket refresh.

Got Tellah's awakening with the free pull... it's new so that's not bad.

That's my first decent 100 gem pull in what feels like years. I'll try the lab boss with this and save a couple pulls for the Rydia/Master banner.

Quina's G+ still isn't lensable in the wave that just happened but it is available from fest stamps in the September fest.

I think I'm probably going to skip this round of dream selects since there's nothing there that excites me that much. The only content I need to clear is XI and Core dragon king and none of these picks seem like a silver bullet for that.

Two more days until Bio lab, did everyone get the farming you cared about done for this group? I got all my 8% accessories which is the one I care the most about because of how combining works. (You can always just keep combining weapons and armor and taking the better passive, but with accessories you need to remember if you have 8% or not and check each one until you get it). I still only have a 4% armor for Delita but that's not that big of a deal, especially since he already easily caps with no dyad.

550 Omega has definitely been overtaken by power creep. I realized after I started the fight I forgot to equip Quina's astra USB, and my middle three characters got hit with the blind/confuse attack, two of them died, I couldn't refresh my chain... but I still pretty easily just crushed him with DPS.

1/11 - Raines Glint+. Meh. It is a useful glint, but it's just a glint. Really wanted Hope's DA (again)

There are some good banners starting this week with the XIII banner with dual awakenings for Raines, Sazh, Hope, and Fang. Next week is bio labyrinth. Two weeks after that is the Rydia/Master/Freya banner, which I also like. I probably only have enough mythril for 3 or 4 pulls combined so this is going to be tough.

Nice pull. Getting use Gilgamesh again would be like a flashback to the early days of the game when he was the best character for a while.

Apparently I'm up to 38 tickets stockpiled, they've been handing those things out like candy. I'm looking forward to the refresh but I really hope it's after next fest so it includes Ayame's and Shantotto's dual awakenings.
